As I said in my previous message, I’m starting to fear people are getting to up-in-arms over the SJWs/brony-haters.  
I don’t want all this to lead to SJW-witch-hunts in the fanbase, or pony fans bashing IDW-fans, and such further dividing up the fanbase, and giving the anti-bronies more fodder to hate us with.  
It’s bad enough many MLP fans (even male ones) are attaching the term “brony” to stigmas/drama related to the fanbase, and refuse to call themselves that anymore.
 
Yes, we should voice our concerns about it, but we should be careful about it, and be grown-up about it.

They definitely should’ve of said anything, though on the other hand it would’ve never come to light. One good thing coming out of this is, IDW is going to be more careful about what content goes into the series from now on. Though, hopefully not “to careful,” nor put to many restrictions/mandates on the series…  
(I’ll be amazed if anything is still allowed in the book after all this drama… Even our beloved Derpster…)

This one wouldn’t have blown up so fast if Anderson and Cuteosphere hadn’t outright confirmed all our concerns about it within 24 hours of the drama starting.

Agreed. Vigilantism is something that we must always try to avoid doing if possible. But when things are mishandled or the system is screwed up, it shouldn’t be a surprise that people may resort to drastic measures.

I think we have a right though to show concern about what kind of stuff is being put in a work intended for children though. I don’t think it’s really vigilantism so much as a lot of people being angry and speaking up. This has gotten a lot of coverage in less than two days. Even by Internet standards, that’s fast, and I think it’s a clear show of just how outraged people really are about this.

Still, we shouldn’t let this “vigilantism” get the better of us, otherwise it could delve into something like say… Some fan could take any person they don’t like in the fanbase go, “ZOMG! this person is an SJW!” (without proof) and then get tons of bronies attacking them verbally, and such…  
This could lead to alot of hate/nastyness in the fanbase, would only fuel peoples’ hate of us, if we get to up in arms over what the SJW/haters think of us bronies…
 
Still, I agree with people saying even something this subtle shouldn’t be put in the book.  
For the sake of the comic, the MLP franchise, and the fanbase’s rep’, we need to handle this like adults, and voice our concerns to IDW in a grown-up manner, not act like animals, nor demonize the comic.

Then it spreads. Internet fanbases are like the rage virus: one drop of blood in the eye is all it takes.

I love how the fandom has become a vigilante breed. If there is ever ANYTHING truly shady including most subliminal messages, we will catch it. We WILL call them out on it. They cannot hide anything from us.
 
I hope people are having an effect right now. Ted needs the boot. Even though he has not really affected anything right now, there is always a possibility of it growing worse if we neglect it.
 
I just wonder what DD would react if we get Ted off the staff stage. She has been a thorn on this fandom for far too long already.

A writer for a few stories/issues, but keep in mind the comic has many other writers to, not just him.

Aside from the cameos, I’ve seen no signs of any “man-hate,” or “anti-brony” SJW agendas in the comics, (not even Ted’s issues that I’ve seen at least) but it does understandably make many fans concerned what his future issues could have, and it’s understandable some don’t want to support a person like that…
 
It’s a shame the whole comic staff, other writers, and the comic’s/IDW’s reputation has to suffer, because of one person.

If he is doing that, (might be better to offer proof/links of this) then perhaps it might be best for the sake of the book, it’s fans, (like myself) and the entire MLP franchise to not have him back to do anymore issues.

Just a reminder, it’s not actually in the comic. What’s in the comic is a half-obscured portrait on a poster in the background of one panel that depicts a unicorn that looks suspiciously similar to an alicorn OC created by a terrible person.

There’s a little bit more to it than that, dude. Read a couple of his replies concerning the whole thing and you’ll see. It’s not just the cameo, it’s that he went on record supporting and condoning the whole Socialist Justice thing to begin with.

Oh, yeah. Forgot to mention that Ted gave a half-assed “apology”, then went over to more ‘feminist’ boards and posted his whackass beliefs, showing he didn’t learn a freaking thing.
 
The fact he lied his ass off, and claimed he thought DD/Cuteoshpere was “satire” when he knew she was serious makes him all the more of an asshat.

It seems this year, as well as last year, have been extremely violitile between the anti-bronies, SJW, and the fandom. Seeing these two cameos, in the same book no less, as well as hearing that a “unnamed” writer for the IP contacted Cuteosphere and said he agreed with her backwards ass philosophies, sent people over the edge.
 
This is looking to be a situation that people want to nip in the bud, but the method is kinda akin to dousing it with gasoline with a match not too far away.

As much as I hate the fact that an official staff member gave a subtle nod to an SJW. DD couldn’t really do any real harm other than shitty verbal insults. And that small cameo does not affect the story whatsoever.
 
What is the bigger fuss about it? It’s just one slight sour detail, that’s it. However, I do understand that fans who know the shit these DWMers have done don’t want this to become a habit of the staff members to include infamous people into official works, and yes it’s a clear violation to Hasbro’s content policies.
 
Personally, I’d try to overlook it. If it persists, then that’s going to be a problem.

But yeah, I’m going to miss Ben’s art. I liked his work in Sonic, Megaman, and TMNT to. (Ben’s got quite a good track-record.)

Yeah, Ted said it was all his idea, Ben probably didn’t even know they were OCs/cameos, or anything. …(Nor the stigmas attached to said OCs. I don’t even know if Bates is a brony, so he wouldn’t be aware of the drama, and such.)

I haven’t heard of him getting any flak. No doubt Ted handed him a picture and was like “lol, draw it” and he did so. Same with the person who colored it; she clearly had no clue who or what it was as she used a different color scheme.

From what I gotten, Bates is still cool and has gotten zero flak. A lot of people including myself are assuming that anderson showed him a pic of that thing and asked Bates to draw it. Bates probably didn’t think twice about it and drew it without wings.
