From what I’ve heard in the VG thread, the virus was more of the tipping point than the main reason for E3 being cancelled.

Two word: swine flu.
 
I remember it, even though most others don’t. Maybe because I’m Argentinian, but still.
 
This will last until June or July, at which point a cure will be found and all social gathering will restart.
 
But just to be clear: the ONLY movies cancelled are “Antlers”, “Mulan”, “The New Mutants” and “A Quiet Place 2”. All others 2020 movies are still gonna be released.
 
My point is: those who are panicking or going “economy and/or Hollywood is gonna collapse!” completely forgot about swine flu.
 
I know this won’t last long because swine flu didn’t last long.

I’m NOT saying nothing should be done about it, or that no precautions, and such should be made.  
I’m just saying it’s possible people, and the media might be overreacting, and there’s extremes on both sides.
 
And I do blame them, as well.

Seeing as the virus just started, that’s not a fair comparison. Give it time to build up a body count. You also might want to find reliable numbers on that.

Agreed… In fact, I hear more people have died from the common flu this year alone then the Corona Virus.
 
It feels like something else they’re exaggerating, and using to panic the populace, like the Cold War, (omg the Russians will bomb us any moment!) and such. It’s annoying, because grocery stores where I live are running out of supplies, and food, because people are freaking out.
 
A similar event happened before where I live where the local news, exaggerated a gas shortage, leading people to panic, and buy-up, and hoard gasoline in containers, leading to an actual gas shortage…  
Fake News really sucks.

This whole corona virus thing has gotten really ridiculous. I’ve read about it, and so many more people have recovered from COVID19 than died from it. The real terrorists are the news broadcasters.
