She still feels bad.
And hopes no one else finds out exactly why.
Thats just starlight venting her feelings and blurting out her past and fears for the future to sunburst.
It pretty much means exactly what it says.
Edited
What did she mean by this?
Heh, and after all that some people still think she’s a mary sue. Poor Twilight.
Anyway, yes, she’ll always try to do what she thinks is the right thing for everyone.
Twilight did not hate trixie although she wasn’t exactly fond of her either. She was just overprotective of starlight’s feelings. Because when starlights feelings get hurt timlines tend to go boom ; ).

Sadly you are correct. I had more than halved a ban given out here over the repeated insults doled out, but now it seems I’ll be reinstating the original timeframe, if not extending it further.
Don’t ban evade.
OK, I’m pretty much convinced now that you’re BP#CD06 on a different/rebooted computer/connection. “getting in her face” – How long has it been since you’ve seen that episode? And if the Great and Powerful Trixie is going to brag about feats she never actually performed and act condescending towards her audience, she ought to learn to expect hecklers.
@Background Pony #B5B9
Are you actually admitting she was wrong to buy and use that amulet? Because if so, I apologize for earlier saying you’d never admit to Trixie doing anything wrong. And I’ve already agreed with you before that Twilight not being more forgiving towards Trixie in “No Second Prances” was BS; as for Glimmer, while I’m happy that the Main 7 and the Friendly Four forgave and befriended her so willingly, I do wish there would have been an episode showing her visiting her former village and finding that not all the residents there would forgive her that easily.
@PonyPon
And yet she did restart her career after the Ursa Major incident and after attempting to enslave a village, thanks to an amulet she was warned was dangerous.
What she thinks is what’s right for everyone. She’s almost destroyed Ponyville, Equestria, the universe, never mind her friends, several times over because she decided she was right early on and charged on without considering she or her methods could be wrong.
That doesn’t explain why Twilight trusts and forgives Starlight in the first place. It doesn’t explain why Twilight was being an asshole even after the episode itself shows her to be wrong when Trixie and Starlight are clearly becoming good friends, and it doesn’t explain why Twilight cared more about a stupid dinner party over Trixie’s apology tour.
She didn’t trust trixie to be a good friend to the emotionally unstable former cult leader and trixie was acting shifty as fuck around twilight. Twilight’s not a mindreader and she’s not perfect but when push comes to shove she’ll always do whats right for everyone.
Because in Magic Duel, it’s explained her bout with the bear kept her from being taken seriously, and restarting her career.
Because that story followed her.
Twilight treated Trixie like shit in the new episode.
Her life was ruined, that’s why she wanted revenge. Her plan was to beat Twilight and get her life back, but the amulet warped her and made Trixie do worse. That’s still not even anything compared to what Starlight did, and she gets off scot free and everyone forgives her.
They PROVOKED her. The very start of her show has Rainbow Dash getting in her face and insulting her purpose in life. They fucking deserved it and I’m not arguing this again. There is no way you will ever convince me she was in the wrong here.
Which doesn’t answer my question. “No Second Prances” shows that she did resume her stage magic career; why did she decide buying a dangerous amulet was more important than her career at the start of “Magic Duel”?
This is a world where gods of chaos are forgiven moments after they betray a nation and where timeline destroying cult leaders are allowed to live with a princess. The only thing stopping trixie from accepting help or moving on with her life was her own pride. Twilight has everyones best interest at heart and if trixie had stuck around after either episode she may very well have ended up where starlight is now, but alas the staff has never really been sure what to do with her till now because she was never meant to be more then a oneshot character.
Luckily for us we seem to be getting more trixie goodness in the future as the staff finally seem to have realized the awesome story and character potential trixie posseses. Either that or they realized how badly they botched starlight’s redemtion and decided to counteract her tepid reception by hooking her up with a fan favourite darkhorse like trixie and hope that trixie’s popularity would rub off on her a bit.

She also used her magic show to humiliate her challengers rather than trying to beat them at their own game, and she bought a dangerous amulet in order to return to Ponyville so she could out-magic Twilight. Losing her wagon was disproportionate karmic payback, but she was something of a jerk rather than an innocent victim.
Because she DID try to restart her career, multiple times. Did you conveniently forget everything?
Well, I suspect the main reason Trixie didn’t hang around is that she saw that most of the Ponyville residents, including Twilight’s friends, were really angry with her. I further suspect that if she had shown any inclination to stick around, Twilight would have intervened on her behalf, and assigned Snips and Snails the task of helping Trixie rebuild her wagon, instead of just cleaning up their mess. (Which would have both helped Trixie and been further karmic payback, IMHO.) That’s just speculation on my part, of course, but I think it’s consistent with Twilight’s development and with how she was portrayed in the episode.
@Background Pony #88A0
Here’s a question for you: Why did Trixie spend her hard-earned bits on an amulet she was told was dangerous instead of using her savings to restart her stage magic career?
Seriously? Trixie lied once, she isn’t her own worst enemy. She didn’t just lose her home either, and that wasn’t even her fault. The show handled her terribly and that’s it.
Eh, karma’s just a useful analogy. Trixie’s misfortunes are the direct or indirect result of her own actions and while she may not have deserved to lose her wagon she didn’t exactly stick around and ask for help either. Trixie is her own worst enemy and any character development she gets in the future will probably will probably be her learning to accept this and how to change it.
I think Trixie’s usual luck is worse than “karma” can explain.
Good grief, I don’t think Trixie’s a perfect angel, and I don’t want her to be either. I just wished they could have treated her better on the show.
Trixie is NOT responsible for all of the bullshit she went through. Try to picture your life after losing everything, have your purpose stripped away from you and made into joke, and be forced to work manual labor instead of doing what you love. Your definition of karma is actually bullshit.
Basically, this.
