Both Walmart and Autozone has come out and admitted that yeah, they are going to pass their tariff losses on their customers.
We’re never going to get those cheap eggs, huh?

60 Minutes did a report on the growing number of digital sweatshops powering the “AI boom.” Workers in developing countries are working under poor conditions for low pay sifting, sorting, and labeling reams of data to train LLM image and text generators.
And yet investors continue to demand this “technology” get adopted everywhere in everything, with the latest “AI functionality” being in the fricking F-35 Lightning II. Lockheed put this “AI” in to diagnose and repair issues with the aircraft based on telemetry data fed into it, but since it’s a fucking LLM, it now requires a whole separate software system to go through and filter out the flurry of false faults it spits out.

Found a bit of old news, but I thought it was interesting enough to be worth sharing. According to one European economist, Russia’s economy has become so dependent on its war with Ukraine that it cannot afford to lose or win that war.
Literally the only way a total collapse of the Russian economy can be avoided is if the war keeps going with virtually no progress whatsoever, and I’m sure we all know that’s not a realistic long-term solution. Talk about backing yourself into a lose-lose situation.

And we have those stupid hillbilly redneck customer bases of theirs to thank for it. May the leopards eat their faces.

How so? Trump is part of the oligarchy and was born into the elite. I don’t think there are many people in America who represent the oligarchy better than Trump does.
Their imposed and approved religion will be enforced even more. Where capitalists don’t exist, the market is supposedly fair, corporations are never at fault, workers should only obey and not push back and any questioning of capitalist power is “radical left” and forbidden.
I mostly see the oligarch’s power expand even more. With even harsher debts on students, more manipulation in the financial market, more duping poor people into debt and so on. Things that hurt society, the government and even the economy as a whole for the sake of the individual benefit of a few oligarchs.

@Ereiam
Yeah, I can’t really think of anyone that embodies the American oligarchy and the rot in American society more than Trump does. The only one I can think of that even comes close is Elon Musk. I do believe their friendship is not purely for individual gain, I think it’s genuine. They really are quite similar.

You’re either terminally dumb or trolling (and the two aren’t mutually exclusive) to spout something as moronic as that.
Trump wasn’t heavily endorsed by dozens of millionaire celebrities and mega corporations.
marinus18

@Midnox
Indeed cause they will lose money due to his economic mismanagement. But he is a total puppet and will further their goals anyway to enrich them at the expense of everyone else. We know this cause that’s what he did last time.
Just because they have no faith in his competence doesn’t mean Trump won’t bend over backwards to appease them with deregulation, tax cuts, cutting worker’s rights and other such things.
marinus18

@Midnox
Yeah, you’re an idiot. Thanks for confirming it.
It is true Trump wasn’t endorsed by most cause his economic performance was abysmal. Sure he gave them big tax cuts and deregulated things to allow megacorps to abuse their power more. But while their share of the economy grew the economy itself contracted. Also his tariffs caused so much loss many left including ones that didn’t want to.
Trump is on the side of the oligarchs. He’s just so incompetent that they still felt Harris was better. Trump gave them a big influx of cash via his tax cuts and deregulation but his economic chaos caused more losses. Most decided to go for Harris who will continue Biden’s strong economic policies even if it means their power will be slightly less. Of course except the oligarchs who care about power more than money like Elon Musk.
Oligarchs kind of play both sides. They push democrats cause they usually have the best economy and they push republicans cause they spread corporate propaganda.

But how is he not part of the oligarchy? He was born to a capitalist family, has been in elite circles all his life and is best friend is America’s most corrupt oligarch. His first term was nothing but gifts to the oligarchy which considering they didn’t endorse him this time really shows just how little faith they have in his competence. Trump’s administration was an absolute swamp of corporate oligarchs and any corporate request was granted. Lenah Habah who has been doing a great job enforcing the law will be the first to get fired for sure. Under Trump megacorps are above the law cause that’s how he views the world. He himself is above the law so he feels his ‘friends’ should be too.
Republicans are the servants of the oligarchy, it’s what they have been for the past 90 years ever since FDR drew the lines of economic policy. With the democrats prioritizing the economy of the nation and the republicans prioritizing the wealth of the oligarchs.
marinus18

@igotnopicks
It’s more because most felt his tax cuts would not compensate for his economic incompetence. But all his policies were pro corporate and he promised to give them billions of tax cuts. Even though his tax cuts didn’t help anything since they are still in place.
