No more "upvotes galore", "downvotes galore" or "wall of faves"

Because those arent tags for general use, they’re search syntax.
 
Just enter them in yourself so you can have a fine tuned score to search for. the old tags were very loosely used anyway.

aliasing is from tag to tag, not tag to search criteria.

As far as i know, alias works only on tags. an alias wouldn’t change things and would make for aesthetically worse tags.

Why alias them when the syntax already works like that? This is not a new thing. Searching for upvotes.gte:250 works - and is more accurate than the tag “upvotes galore”.
 
The tags are redundant and not descriptive of the post itself. That’s why we think they need to go.

You can’t alias them because they’re not tags - they’re search statements. System tags may be hard on the server, or hard to code. I suggested them long ago and was studiously ignored.-

I finally threw in the towel on trying to maintain upvotes galore at 250 almost a week ago. Whenever you finally get around to removing them, I won’t have to be annoyed at how sloppy the tag has become.

You could think of them more as badges for images rather than as tags. They aren’t commenting the content of the image but an accomplishment made by the image. In this case the relative popularity/unpopularity of the image compared to other images at the time of uploading.
 
It is somewhat sad to see these community created artefacts go although I see your point about their redundancy. That’s why preserving them as as shorthand or aliases for the real search syntax would be pretty cool as a novelty feature.

While I can appreciate that, it’d add a lot of backend complexity to the search parsers used around the site, and the fact remains that these tags are subjective in where they land. One person’s ‘upvotes galore’ isn’t anothers’. As such it’d be presumptuous of us to set these in stone in a way that the community did not. We’ll let them lie, and provide some information on score/comment count-based searches and filters when the tags are finally retired.

And just another way to take away any accomplishments from all but the privileged 1% who ALWAYS manage to get the highest upvoted artwork uploaded under their accounts…I still remember my first pic that reached 200+ upvotes and the 500+ one and the pride that came with that. Don’t take that from me, please

You realise the tags mean literally nothing, right? They have absolutely no reason to exist, they’re completely redundant and removing them will not take anything away. Removing upvotes galore or wall of faves will not suddenly make every image no longer have a score of 200+ or a literal wall of favourites.  
Compare a search using a tag manually applied by the community with a fuzzy criteria to a search with solid criteria:  
search with upvotes galore  
search with score.gte:200  
It’s clearer, gives you exactly what you’re after. See how the second search has more than the first? that’s an example of why we don’t need upvotes galore.
 
Also upvotes galore and wall of faves are pretty much synonymous.

If you use it at least once every 2 weeks, you only have to type it once - afterwards it’ll drop down when you start typing sc…
 
Even without that, it’s the same number of characters.

Now, can we get rid of the character-specific cute, breast, etc. tags?

How does removing tags take away from “accomplishments”? Anyone can plainly see that a few users upload most of the highly-upvoted images, but you shouldn’t be proud of getting some made-up internet points.
 
If you really want the pride of having a good post, you can still think of it in terms of “One of my images earned 500 votes.” The upvote/fave tags may be going away, but the upvotes aren’t going anywhere.

It desensitizes people, when it’s mainly used for the same message over and over it just bleeds into the background, i mean i have seen a banner that said something other then “Pony with care blah blah blah” like twice,

Clearly we need to just spruce up that feature a little. Ya know: add in a Marquee tag, maybe some blinking text, make the element expand/contract sinusoidally. That should really grab the user’s attention. :P

The issue is what it’s used for, if i have a broadcast where once a week for like 2 days i say the same thing, odds are everyone will tune me out after a while,
 
As for the topic it’s self i don’t really see the benefit with regards to Upvotes galore and wall of faves, it doesn’t really help but i do not think it could possibly be hurting anyone either, and since it is as one person noted like a mini achievement for an average user i feel it’s a net positive, and since we keep other really stupid pointless tags that are based solely on others negative feelings(Princess twilight) i see no logical or moral reason to remove them, downvotes galore i will not defend because it’s an active violation of rule zero’s spirit,
