I was pretty pissed a few hours ago.

I see what you’re saying. And that does make more sense.
But it still leaves me wondering why it seems that everyone has a human counterpart (including the diamond dogs and cloud gremlins), except spike? It’s just odd seeing him as the minority.
It just makes me wonder if there are any other characters in the show that are like spike, and have an animal counterpart (we haven’t seen zecora yet, maybe she is one too?)
Maybe it’s not based by species but the individual similar to the game Ni No Kuni. In that game sometimes if the persons Earth counterpart is human then so is there other world counterpart, but other times someone who is human on Earth maybe a mouse, dragon, etc. in the other world. Or someone who is human in the other world maybe a dog on Earth.

You’re expecting this setting to start making sense now? The Equestria Girls universe is constructed from elemental bullcrap. Don’t start hoping for it to make sense.
But they were still a different species from ponies.
Which raises the question: If all species in equestria are humanized in this world including the diamond dogs, and the gremlins rainbow dash faced in her micro comic, why is spike not allowed to be human?
He, like the diamond dogs were another species, yet they got to be human. I really don’t understand how this universe works.
