I had just got done explaining that I’m NOT a changeling, I’m just learning magic similar to their’s.
I think I might have a gift for it actually, though my cutie mark isn’t any indication.

Right or wrong, I can’t judge since I’m not really into magic. I tend to stay away from it as possible, and thankfully, radiation is strong enough to resist it. That way, enemies that have magical powers, like Discord, won’t be able to do a thing if I coated somepony with a radiation shield. Don’t worry. That radiation is developed is synthesized, and can be used for a lot of benefits.
You might wanna ask Twilight or the royal sisters about it. They know better.

Actually, I’ve been studying the magic possessed by changelings that allows them to change form, and slowly perfecting it. I am not a changeling, though. I’m just trying to use my higher potency alicorn magic to live up to my name.

What you just used to change into a Pegasus. Thing is, I’m no genetic engineer to turn you into a Pegasus. All the stuff I developed, which are nuclear tech based, are zero magic.

Well for one, this is Equestria. Not earth.
What do you mean ‘no’ characterization? What nonsense is that? We had some of Derpy’s characterization long before she spoke.
Based on their canon reactions, her parents seem like normal parents that want what’s best for their child, but ones that are so invested in their child’s future, they don’t worry too much if it would take their lives away from the house more and more into the castle…especially by the way they were eagerly nodding from Celestia’s suggestion of apprenticeship. That’s their CANON characterization. Its incomplete, but it, combined with what they’ve been doing at their other appearances, addresses what they’re not.
However, assuming that they have some abnormal parental mindset that would find the picture DanielTepesKraus last posted not creepy in the least…THAT’S complete and utter fanon. Its not backed up by canon, analysis OR common sense. “Aww, look at our 1000 year old goddess-princess snuggling with our daughter is if she were her own.”
THAT is complete nonsense that can be thrown aside in a heartbeat, especially since we’ve seen their reactions, and have some characterization. Its immensely more likely, going by what we’ve seen of them, that it wouldn’t be that kind of reaction.
Either way you made an extremely weak argument. Even if they had NO scenes but we knew they are alive…why would you assume the LESS likely possibility? Most parents would not feel comfortable about another person acting like her mother instead of them. especially that intimately. So why pick the less likely choice even if you pretend they have no characterization?
My problems with your problems are simple: Twilight’s “living parents” have no cannon characterization whatsoever, so you can’t say anything about how they might react. Would they be freaked out? Would they smile? Would they ask to join? We don’t know, because the only evidence you have is in fannon, which can be ruled out and eliminated in an instant by cannon.
Oh and sorry for replying so late..had to work all through Super Bowl weekend.

As I already showed with the pre-parent reveal chart, headcanons are fine if they don’t come completely out of left field. Rarity’s dad being a abusive father wasn’t even remotely probable given what we knew about her. On the other hand, some fanfics ARE probable. Heck, as of late, some fanfics have better continuity and less retcons then the actual show. Headcanons, possible theories not facts, backed up by analysis are at least good enough for discussion.
It was mostly a “don’t mix headcanon/fanon with actual canon”
