@RIG
Well, I still stick to the, as you say, ‘Bullshit’. I believe that only a god can be immortal. Call me stupid, fine by me. That’s my opinion and I’m happy with it.
@RIG
Exactly. Lauren Faust stated they weren’t meant to be all powerful gods. There are plenty of fictional characters far less powerful then all powerful gods that are age-wise immortal, and Celestia is theoretically more powerful then Apollo, even if we don’t consider her a goddess, since she moves the sun just by reflex, not chariot.
@Sharpy1991
she never said that, she said they aren’t all powerful gods and for some reason people assumes that “no god=no immortal” which is complete BS, look into fiction all the immortal characters that aren’t all powerful gods.
Just not when the facts make the relationship horrendously messed up.
The sad fact is, that the messed up parts are mostly the canon ones. I’ll enjoy a few good Auntlestia pics with Cadense since her parents don’t seem to be around, (neither Blueblood’s), but no one can deny something is wrong with this “PARENTAGE REPLACEMENT CONCEPT”. Name me one scene where Celestia doesn’t see Twilight as her daughter, and vice-versa motherwise. Name me one scene where the parents even got to talk or be near their daughter or son.
Let’s face the facts…Celestia has both immortality and maternity blues, and she quite psychologically wants have Twilight her own IMMORTAL child. Its not going to work out plot-wise obviously, as the authors have already stated she’s not going to outlive her freinds, but that’s what its come down to.
Isn’t it a little disrespectful to post twi/momlestia pictures…when the picture subject is her having justifiably good doubts about it?
@d715
I don’t know what kind of effed up fanfics you read about Rarity before her parents were revealed about abusive father nonsense. The only character that fits that psychological profile is Gilda. As someone not obsessed with the grimdark, I just stuck with the Brony crowd good at psychological profiles.
Most of what I and the people I talked to, before made canon or not by the show or authors, thought that:
Applejack and Applebloom: Parents died shortly after Applebloom was born, raised by big brother and grandma.
Confirmed by writers over twitter very quickly.
Twilight Sparkle: Very uninfluencial soccer mom and dad parents eager to send their kid to be taught by a princess. Doesn’t need interesting parents since she’s the audiance’s eyes main character.
Became canon.
Pinkie Pie: Either came from a family of clowns or came from a family of boring folk so she could rebel against it.
Second guess canon. Her family are Amish.
Rarity: Either 1) high class parents to influence herself off of or 2) complete hicks so she’d feel necessary to be different from them. Sweetie Belle’s existance suggested the later since she had no mid-atlantic accent.
The second one was canon. Her parents were indeed mild hicks. More northern hicks less southern though, in contrast to Hayseed Turnip Truck or the more country of the Apples.
Scootaloo: Sympathy train. No flight, no older siblings, possibly no parents. Idolizes one person and wants to be just like her. Possibly orphan that lives in an orphanage.
Unconfirmed but intentionally led towards that possibility. Uses the term ‘adoptive sister’ and parents don’t get involved when she’s throwing away her stuff.
Fluttershy: Least clues. Due to hermit lifestyle, possibly has very energetic and overbearing pegasi parents or older brothers.
Still completely unconfirmed. Her parentage has the lowest clues out of all of them. Unclear why Snowflake/Roid Rage is traumatized by a butterfly identical to her cutie mark.(crazy brother who got on the wrong side of her repressed anger?) Absolutely nothing concrete.
Rainbow Dash: Either orphan or raised shortly by a single father. No parents at her young flyers competition. Seams to have no female figure in her life, uses terms like ‘defending Fluttershy’s honor’, possible early death of father would explain her lack of reading skills, her lack of figures to be less afraid of monsters, her autophobia and her EXTREME protectiveness of her friends. Mother possibly Celestia. She is the catalyst for everyone becoming elements in Cutie Mark Chronicles, and her entire race, clothes, culture and cutie mark are curiously based on Disney’s Hercules.
Confirmed non-orphan. RD remembers her father only, and only in an extremely early memory with tears and trauma in her eyes.
And for the record, I said potentially, not confirmed.
1, the mane six are the only ones who do that
2, prove it
3, agian prove RD doesn’t know her mother, remember who we all though Sweetie Belle and Rarity didn’t have parents dispite the creators flat out told us they do and still life in Ponyvillie, remember all those “Rarity’s dad is abusive” crap fanfics? Then we saw them and they’re at worst a little embarrassing
@odiz
Actually, part of that is correct. Ms. Faust did originally want Celestia to be Queen, but the Hasbro suits nixed it (years of Disney films have taught little kids that Queens are Evil, so they asked she be a Princess, instead).
I think Twilight Sparkle was always supposed to be Twilight Sparkle, though.
encourages being Twilight’s mother and ONLY parental figure even though Twiliht has living parents
Potentially more of a deadbeat mother then Zeus was a deadbeat father to another Greek demigod with the Mark of the Gods. RD released the Destiny Sonic Rainboom when she was freakin’ six or seven and she STILL doesn’t know her biological mother, being raised by a single father.
if i didn’t know any better
i suspect that celestia was
planed to be Queen and
Twilight’s mother but Hasbro
rejected the idea, and made
celestia princess and
Twilight velvet her
(Twilight’s) mother
instead.
