God, it’s all true. And what kills me is that they apparently think it’s perfectly acceptable to tell OTHER people to kill themselves if they disagree with them.
The problem with social justice warriors as a whole. Bunch of kids using progressive values as a fashion statement and trying to one up one another, completely tainted even the basic notion of empathy and gave sociopathic douchebags enough ammo to where I get called a social justice warrior because I think telling people they should kill themselves is a shitty thing to do. Not being an asshole was just starting to gain popular traction with people and now it’s considered “uncool” again because of this little shitwits.
While this is true, the label has unfortunately been so tainted that you say “feminist”, and you’re automatically relegated to an extremist.
To be fair, there are good and bad feminists. Faust is a “good” feminist, that person who started DWM is not.
The funny thing is, I would have mocked them too, until I discovered how literally fucking horrible the people abusing the label of “feminist” are these days.

I was mocking people who think the “friendzone” is a thing that both exists and is bad. Specifically, I was mocking the “Men’s Rights Activists” (read:anti-women) from Reddit. I happen to have a good friend of the female variety that I am not romantically interested in.

Pretty much. Sometimes, you almost wish 2012 HAD ended in apocalypse - wipe the slate clean, start over, and hope things turn out better this time. Unfortunately, that’d also mean we’d all have to die. :I
I imagine there’s a filter since I’m a guy. I’m not the target, so they’re mostly invisible to me. It probably hinders a lot of progress. I’ve definitely, undeniably seen plenty of women who value complete douchebags over genuinely nice guys. These nice guys don’t even generally whine about it, their self esteem is typically too low for that. However, it’s also apparent that there’s a large subset of dickheads out there that feel entitled to a women if they hold the door for her and assumes she just goes for jerks if she isn’t in to him. And I think this causes a lot of confusion and a lot of people talking about different people while assuming that they’re talking about all of the same people.
I don’t know, basically life is a big clusterfuck and it would just be nice if the world were populated with better people is the where every sociopolitical thought I have eventually leads.
That’s not always the case. I’m a girl and I wouldn’t be interested in the bad boy type, actually their behaviour would probably get on my nerves extremely quickly.
I also have several friends who happen to be male, but I don’t think of any of them romantically. They are nice, and nice is what I’m looking for, but they aren’t quite what I would marry. They’re lovely friends, but I wouldn’t be able to live in the same house as them forever.
They’re still important to me, but they would have to get rid of some of the traits and habits I don’t like if they wanted to marry me and it wouldn’t be fair of me to ask that.

Then you are a very lucky person that has managed to avoid seeing the kind of incessant whining exhibited by a lot of these so-called “nice guys”.
Every time I’ve seen the term friend zone used it’s just as a term for unrequited love. And then a bunch of people flip shit that anyone would have the nerve to be disappointed that they got rejected. I’m sure there are douchebags that think a woman owes them just because they did nice things for her, but it seems like most if the time when I see people flipping out about it, they seem to be seeing a sense of entitlement that isn’t there.
