Age and social status isn’t nothing compared to power of love, there are even stories about poor kids crushing on young princesses/queen and at the end works…(guess which story i’m talking about)
@Background Pony #9A1D
With the more “accepting” society has become in recent years, people don’t like to associate any sort of under-handed tactics with love. Guess they don’t buy into earning love or similar.
At the end of the day he’s still a kid, even by Dragon standards. So his crush on Rarity might be not that different than a teenager girl’s crush on Justin Bieber.So yeah, Sparity is not going to happen in the show. Too many bad implications about adults dating kids.
@Itsthinking
I wouldn’t consider it like OOC, more like his dragon nature in action, which it was shown in JFS that he is still dealing with it despite the events of SoME
@Background Pony #7958
That comic is very OOC for him. It’s really more of a joke than anything. Regardless, he’s in no way as bad as people normally associated with being entitled.
I think this is true,but to an extent.I mean,doing errands and working as an assistant is one thing,but the errands he does for Rarity is because is Rarity.
The comic shows him purposedly ruining Turnip Truck’s chance to even talk to Rarity.
Why would he do that? Jealousy.
And why would he be jealous? Because Spike has a crush on Rarity and is under the pretense that no one is good for her but him and the thought of someone trying to woo her pisses him off.
So it’s not really so out of there of the posbility of him thinking believing he’s entitled of her affections,if just a little bit.
@Tenafly Viper
Spike doesn’t strike me as believing he’s “entitled” to Rarity. He seems to like doing things for her just…for the sake of doing nice things for her and making her happy.
@Tenafly Viper
What’s wrong with wanting more out of a relationship? Anything that isn’t growing is dying, and if someone wants to work towards making a friendship into a romance, why should he not? Best friends sometimes make for the best lovers, partners, spouses, and parents.
Actually, I think “Somebody may not always think about you in the way you want them to or the same way you think of them, but that doesn’t mean that you can’t be friends or that they aren’t important to you” could be a very good lesson to learn
@Background Pony #6810
yes, although like there wouldnt be much the difference lol but we plan marrying when we have the money to do it xP whatever, what I meant is being in the friendzone doesn’t mean anything negative for me in that sense.
@Background Pony #9A1D
that’s ok for me. I mean, since perhaps is not possible for the show to make it canon, but they still can hint it, and that’s enough, the rest can be provided by the fandom :3
@Background Pony #7958
I would be really shocked if the show would actually make Spike get rejected rather than (sadly) maintain the status quo. Probably even more than if he didn’t get rejected.
@Background Pony #6810
indeed. but a sometimes is not an always. For me, being friends is first step, and I have a 11 yeas relationship. So I know what I’m talking about.
