If we just consider the OP’s original picture alone, I’d say this is pretty much tame depiction of Richard Dawkins, at least he didn’t put him in the butt of the jokes like shiva and buddha.

Except if the halo is meant to be the ironic joke.

I think its a plus for Christians that their less inclined to start shit like this.

What is the point in making an atheist look like a devout Quaker? As far as I am concerned, placing a halo on and atheist is worst than poor taste.

And this is NOT the kind of thing most parents would want to expose their children to.

Well, yeah. Twilight lives in a whole other universe, where different rules apply. There’s really no telling how she’d react in this world.
I get what you’re saying, now.

@a6p …That’s kind of the point I’m trying to make. If anything, Dawkins is a symbol of anti-religion. I just think the idea of Twilight being anti-religion is a rather stupid fandom idea, and don’t agree at all that’s what she’d be like in the show itself. (Now, people use “Feeling Pinkie Keen” as an example of Twilight being anti-religious, but Twilight’s issues with Pinkie in that episode have absolutely nothing to do with religion. It just seems like an excessive exaggeration and simplification of Twilight’s character and what the actual issue of “Feeling Pinkie Keen” was about.)

Not really.

Kind of disappointed that the artist did Twilight with Richard Dawkins. Kind of feel like she should be able to hang out with other religious characters too. (That, and the whole, “Twilight should be an atheist because she’s into science” thing is rather played out.)

I live it, it’s my second major. Most of my Twilight’ish library is also dedicated to philosophy. Kant, Hume, Voltaire, Aristotle, Nietzsche, Paine, Hobbes, Pascal(whom I want to dig up and punch), Amery, Dawkins, Hitchens, Machiavelli…and that’s just the ones I can see on the second shelf by turning my chair around.

Anyway, I believe I’m heading to bed. It’s 2:18 and I have classes at 10.

Thanks to my philosophy classes I have logic and theism on my mind 24/7, frankly it drives me insane but I (and you as I can tell, you as well) probably have thought about it more then most people will ever do. It’s a sad thing really.

He’s not referring to the people so actually he’s not generalizing. He’s calling the concept, one thing, stupid. Technically an opinion but not a generalization.

There are scientists who are theists, not many but they exist. On the opposite side of the coin, theists told us the earth was at the center of the universe…so just fixing a screw up I guess?

(I like the show xD )
