I wish they did this with Rainbow and Scootaloo with Tarzanb characters. They’d fit being spunky but sweet. It be awesome and sweet. It rock to see them join the Trashing the Camp bit. Them joining Tarzan adn jane on their swinging. Their reactiosn to JAne falling for Tarzan. Them joining the fight to protect those on need. And Rainbopw beating her chest to join them.
Not true. Every single film on this list is CG. And a lot of older 2D-animated films are surprisingly cheap when adjusted for inflation. (For instance, The Secret of NIMH is only about $18 million.)
@Beau Skunky
I think part of the reason TPatF wasn’t a huge hit (along with competition from James Cameron’s Avatar) was because it was marketed as a typical princess film, unlike Tangled and Frozen, which were marketed as comedies. (I was 14 when TPatF was released, and I avoided it because I thought it looked lame and girly thanks to the Disney Princess franchise being aimed at girls for the past decade.)
(I know your comment is four years old, but I still wanted to make this point.)
Edited
2D got screwed over by bad studio management. It might take a long time berofore someone is willing to give it a go again, but 2D will always have a timeless appeal to it which is why I don’t think it well ever go extinct.
Rairty mixed with Pinkie Pie is actually a startlingly accurate description of her, now that I think about it.
I agree, she was actually kinda like Rarity in a way, though with a bit of Pinkie Pie in her. It kinda made her more unique to. TVTropes even uses her for the Spoiled Sweet trope page.
I miss 2D animation in general, but problem is 3D is cheaper, and studios are cheap. …Also doesn’t help some critics are saying 2D is “outdated.” (Like some schmuck said who reviewed the “Curious George” movie.)
I also hear while “Princess and the Frog” was quite successful, (and it was a good movie, I felt) it wasn’t successful enough to keep interest in 2D traditional animation going. :(
Don’t get me wrong, I like 3D/CGI animation, (heck it helps with 2D animated movies to) but it’s all we ever see now for animated feature films now, and I like seeing other animation styles.
@Psychopomf
I think she was air-headed, but she wasn’t inconsiderate. I think she actually offered to use her connections to get Tiana’s business off the ground, but Tiana wanted to work for it herself.
I liked the movie quite a bit. I thought it was a neat spin on the fairy tale, and it was very nice to see Disney doing 2D animation again. I wonder how long it will be before the next time they decide to “un-close” the 2D division… I hope it’s not too long.
Also adding Applejack to this is fairly silly but fun
Eh, forget about it. Let’s just stop. I don’t want to start another debate.
No, I just don’t see the point in how 60% of your posts are always making passive-aggressive, or whiny remarks about Hasbro, or something like they killed your dog, and drowned your goldfish, and are the “ultimate evil,” or something.
…It gets old.
Also, if it weren’t for Hasbro, there wouldn’t be MLP:FiM. They’re just as resposible for it’s creation as Lauren Faust is. In fact, if they didn’t suggest she work on the show, she never would’ve been interested in working on a new MLP cartoon in the first place. So it’s rather ironic, when people demonize Hasbro, or come up with all these crazy conspiracy theories, and such.
If Hasbro, or DHX goes under so does the show, and MLP franchise.
Who said he did? Methinks you are looking for an argument.
…Dude, get over it already. Just ‘cause you’re fed-up with Hasbro doesn’t mean the show’s staff is. (In fact, overall I hear Hasbro actually gives the show’s makers, and comic makers ALOT of freedom with the series. Alot more then you think.)
Also, Craig didn’t work on MLP:FiM. Nice try.
More like Disney Junior.
If it were Disney Channel, it’d be a live-action Equestria Girls, only a million times worse.
