So the model maker is still a mystery.
Shikidark didn’t make the models. I read the description on DeviantArt, it’s translated from French so there is broken English, but Shikidark says they only made the photo and are distributing it. They are not the original creator of the models.
I say that because there are so many versions of them on mmd.

I mean I have heard of someone at Cartoon Network stealing a fan’s work for use as a commercial. When the decent thing to do is to ask or even offer them a job.
Holy crap, that’s the artist I was thinking of! I think you may be right! I recognized the style but couldn’t place it. Edit: Wait, who actually is the artist? MMD is a piece of software, not an artist. Who modeled those ponies originally?

It’s possible that someone working on the film started with fan models and modified them slightly.

Similar, but it looks a little more refined and baked than the mmd models. If not then Hollywood has ironically become the biggest thieves they swore to exterminate.
Besides if they don’t use their names. The trademark will be lost.
