The only real incompetence on his heart stems from the wedding, where he was brainwashed. Otherwise most of the threats than the Royal Guard had to face were practically God-level that could only be beaten by The Elements of Harmony

I’m speaking from personal experience; I don’t look up porn of him, but of the porn I just stumble upon, there’s more where he’s raped than isn’t.

Well first off, of the 7,620 pieces of art with Shining in an explicit situation, only 285 of them involve r^pe. And the Shiningsub tag only has 433 pieces, 52 of which include him being r*ped. I honestly think you’re blowing this whole thing waay out of proportion, especially on a picture that’s poking fun at Shining in one of the more innocent ways. You need to take a chill pill and step away from Shining porn for a couple days.

Well, it’s made me hate him because he’s basically become Meg, and characters who exist to be abused are depressing, and that character type needs to go away. This whole thing makes me think there’s 1 kid the Sparkle parents love and are proud of way more than the other. I saw a story where Shining got possessed (I despise possession/mind control; it’s so humiliating and violating), and Twilight killed him thinking he was a changeling, and in 1 of the many “Shining got raped by Chrysalis, so he has a kid now” arts, Cadence finds out, and her reaction to him being raped is to throw him out a window, and he flies into a wall with his ass sticking out, and a photographer takes a picture of it to publish it. More of his porn proportionally is him being raped. Isn’t all this and his never ending torture funny? Wouldn’t it make it even funnier if it turned out he was a virgin saving himself for marriage? I wish this character never existed. Leav Shining Armor alone. He’s suffered enough.

Shining Armor’s lack of effectiveness is a running joke throughout the entire fandom. There’s a reason we have a tag called “Shining Armor is a Goddamn Moron”.

Shining Armor has failed to do anything useful without others taking over and doing it better. It has nothing to do with opinion. Shining Armor is just a character who constantly needs help from others, making him easy to make fun of. We don’t hate him, we simply realise that he’s mostly useless in the show.

Making art mocking Shining Armor for inferiority says otherwise. They think he’s a shitty character. Proportionately, Shining Armor gets art where he gets the short end of the stick way more than any other character, and it eventually gets depressing. Why does the fandom hate him so?

Squish never said they hated Shining. They simply stated the fact that, throughout the show, Shining Armor has never succesfully achieved anything without someone else doing most of the work. It has nothing to do with opinion, just something anyone can pick up on by simply watching the show.

That’s actually one of the biggest motivations behind why I never evolved my style beyond being show-accurate, is I really like to depict these things in a way they would reasonably look if they actually appeared in the show. It’s what was so great when the sphinx aired, because I was actually able to compare the way a canon sphinx actually looks to the style I came up with before:  

 
It was really neat for me to be able to sit down and reflect on the differences, like how I had a much bulkier design with more emphasis on the Greek sphinx, while theirs was much more streamlined and put much more emphasis on the Egyptian sphinx, yet at the same time we were like “Yellow eyes and cat ears” XD

I have mused over the idea that I could technically draw whoever or whatever I want so long as I make it tangentially pony-related in some way, but it’s also not a thread I want to pull too much because I’m sure it causes “is this or is this not pony-related problems behind the scenes XD

You might be able to get it on like the Playstation Store as a virtual download or something. Honestly though, best bet at this point is to jump into emulation or modding a PS1 to play burned games. It’s a little bit of a rabbit hole, but it’s not terribly hard to do and not very expensive; PS1 mod chips are stupid cheap, like you can get them for between 2 and 7 bucks, and you basically just have to do some very beginner-level soldering to put them in. You can even buy a pre-modded PS1, but admittedly it’s quite a bit more expensive :D
 
He doesn’t get a whole lot of characterization in Symphony of the Night, but he has an amazing voice :D

One of these days I really need to play Symphony of the Night. All I’ve got is Lament of Innocence. People are just asking stupid prices for it.
 
Honestly, all I have for Alucard is the little bit of Season 1 of the animated show he was. Total and complete badass of course. But I’m not sure how much of his character was changed from the games.

Gordon’s at least good at his day-to-day job though, and when thrown in over his head he at least holds his own by being a proficient marksman, an expert hand-to-hand fighter, and a skilled detective on par with Batman himself. Besides, we all know why Shiny was REALLY promoted to Captain :P

It’s ironic too because in a video game like the Metroidvania Castlevanias, the ability to charm your way through fights unharmed would be game-breaking. You’d be able to get to areas way earlier and faster than normal, gathering higher-tier weapons and armor, heart and mp boosts, and learning new abilities. A level 1 luck mode Alucard would shred the final boss to pieces with the Crissaegrim, the Mourneblade, or even the Alucard gear :P

Which means the princesses are in Luck Mode as well. Shining just has it turned up to 11. 12 when he can’t even beat one of the weakest monsters in Castlevania.

Kind of an unfair statement when most of the opponents we see him go up again are powerful enough to One-Shot the Princesses or at the very least need the Elements in order to be truly defeated.
