Chrysalis is an evil monster no matter which way you slice it.

You guys are using the same excuse those deranged hardcore Vegetarians make against regular humans. The difference? Unlike them, YOU EAT KITTENS TOO! Or cows whatever, so you’re hypocrits. And that makes you even worse people. Humans kill and eat animals, and they enjoy it. So humans are evil are they?
 
…Uh, I mean if we ignore all the murder, rape and such that humans do and only focus on the eating bit.

I think people are overreacitng over this.

Yeah, you keep repeating that mantra to yourselves and I’ll keep hoping the comic gets darker.

Whether the Changelings in the MLP comic are canon or not, I still think that while Chrysalis is determined to get what she wants and will do any means necessary to make that sure no one will get in her way, she does care for her Changelings and wants to prevent her race from extinction. She just needs to take the hint that evil deeds aren’t the answer. But who knows how long it would take for her to understand.

You know? I’ve always had the feeling the comics change uncomfortably FAST from over-dramatic to over-comedic, and from over-goofy to over-creepy. Sure, I love the darker elements on the comic, but the constant Mood Whiplash from Dark and Edgy to Light and Goofy is just mood killing and kinda unnecesary. I’d like the comics to be either Darker and Edgier or Softer and Goofier, not both at the same time.

Well while we are at it, in the show changelings mouths are red on the inside (which indicates they have iron-based blood like mammals and not copper-based one like insects which puts “bug” part into question) in the comics they have blue (copper) mouth insides and tongues.  
However I believe this is what called over-analysis. >_>

Not only that. In the comics, Chrysalis doesn’t have a forked tongue. In the show she does. This conflicts.
 
Also, those small furry animals don’t belong in MLP. I know it’s a show aimed at small children, but we haven’t seen any little furry creatures like that. It just seems out of place.

Why does it conflict with the show, because of the Shining Armor thing? That’s only assuming he was completely drained. Remember his love was supposed to be ridiculously powerful, and Cadance replenished him pretty quickly.

We can be nearly sure changeling use their horn to graab the magic of love instead of some weird smoke from their mouths, just like they use it to cast magic. So, I’ll just say that they drained the love of these creatures and leave them like empty shells without taking anything about the method they use to do it.
 
I’m sure they could have harvest them like cattle if they had wait for them to replenish but from what I’ve read in the comments chrysalis wanted to fulfill her revenge against ponies and probably just had no time for that.

Other things we learned:
 

Here’s a thought. These little critters, of absolutely no purpose outside being fodder, are just made of pure and disgusting amounts of love. They probably don’t even have an evil bone in their little bodies. Almost makes you want to spew from thinking about it.
 
So if you drain away all that loving essence from them then what else is there inside?
