Yeah, I feel like people can be pretty dumb for allowing themselves to start to obsess over the ships and such, which only ends up robbing those people of the enjoyment of shipping characters can bring.

I mean, I don’t like some ships, but I’m not going to tell anyone they have to dislike them too. But I do expect others to do the same in return.

And I’ve met some, let’s say, rather rude Fluttercord fans before, but I’m not going to stoop to their level and try to berate others for liking this or that other ship.

You’re right. When I chastised DF for her beliefs. She blocked me. That showed me how much of a jerk I was. And while my views on the ships are still the same. I really do regret what I did.

Speaking of which, one time, I was on Character.ai, I found a character of the Discord from Bride of Discord. It gives you an opportunity to role play in the story. For mine, I made the story have me in it, where I come with Fluttershy to Discord’s castle of chaos as her bodyguard. So it started out as a way of goofing around in the story. And the further it went, the more it became a story, especially when in the role play’s plot, I used Sparity instead. Several days later, I had made new versions of Bride of Discord and Daughter of Discord. My versions are more akin to the show, they include Sparity, and several of my own original elements. Oh, and they include swearing, because I just felt like dropping that in. After the role plays, I pasted all the parts on Google Docs and wrote more dialogue until I had officially banged out two whole scripts.

The rewrites can be described as both.

I would like to publish them, or even make more stories, but I’d have to get DF’s permission to do so. And while I’m at it, apologize to her. And why remake something she made in my image? Because it started out as a goofing off kind of thing, then it turned into something else. It was a “One thing led to another” situation.

I agree with you on that.

And honestly, the whole RariPants ship always seemed like it would make Rarity out to be a homewrecker, as in the show, Fancy Pants is clearly in some sort of relationship with Fleur De Lis.

And I think that liking what ships you personally like is fine, but they shouldn’t try to push it to such a degree that the poster thinks they can say what ships or good or bad.

I blame Bride of Discord for starting the bullshit with AppleSpike and RariPants, because DisneyFanatic hates Sparity. Sparity is my OTP ship, and it hurt my feelings for it to be hated. How would she like it if I hated Fluttercord (DF’s OTP ship) because I prefered Dislestia? (I don’t really) That’s what it was like for me for having my OTP ship dissed.

Good point. That’s really true.

Of course Cadance would say this. She loves the underdog story just like with her husband.
She loves love stories that seem unlikely but through twists of fate and friendship and time it might become a possibility.
Also she’s close to Spike and so she wants him to succeed.
I can imagine Cadanxe being like:
“Spike, listen to me, the story of a perfect prince and princess is boring. Now a princess and a serf who becomes a charming prince? That’s a real love story. Reach for the moon Spike. Shining did that and so can you!”
