Yup, it took a while but I got better. And I could not have done it without my family who pulled me out of it, they were the only ones who noticed and I needed a lot of attention so I wouldn’t backslide back then.

You know, I have been where Moondancer was. I got left behind by friends or so it felt. It was a really stressful day after a stressful week and I only wanted to get to hanging out with them, I did all sorts of chores so they had free time, but when I finally had time, they were already gone. I honest to god felt like jumping off a building. No joke. I know that was a really petty reason and yes, it turned out I was really sick. Clinical depression.

That she wasn’t. I definitely feel for her, she was struggling all throughout her childhood for companionship and only felt close to Twi who wasn’t having that friendship nonsense at the time. And it had to hurt knowing that not only did she leave you but she traded in for a better group of friends.
 
Does wonders for the self-esteem.

That’s very true. And of course she was sympathetic but also, yeah, petty. Neither of them are perfect and that’s what makes them such a good match.

Looking back, Moondancer wasn’t the nicest pony either, (her grudge was a bit petty, and such) so she could improve her attitude too.

Precisely! I’ve never been of the mind that a ship should exist solely to improve one person - that’s an unfair expectation for real relationships so why should that apply here? (Almost all of my crackships are pairings that have reasons to work together as a unit, even if it doesn’t always seem that way upon first glance. If I have a ship that doesn’t, it’s to highlight specifically that it won’t work out in the end - or at least that they need to work for it if they want to stay in that relationship…)
 
I think that’s why I like these two together so much, they have the traits that the other needs and they have the ability to provide their partner with the kind of support they don’t have otherwise. And they do have to somewhat work to be a couple - however, it’s also something that happens naturally over time (which they don’t expect going into it - and it’s a surprise to both of them that they want to see things through…)

She doesn’t, and as well, he doesn’t accept her more harmful shut-in habits - so they make each other better by being together. They both know they shouldn’t work together but they also know that they do. Bring out the best in each other. (plus, again, it’s not like Blueblood was ever more than oblivious and a bit of a snob - an easy fix)

This is a strange ship, but I think it could actually work. I can’t see Moondancer accepting any of Blueblood’s syay. She might help guide him toward being more of a decent pony.

I adore Lopoddity’s art and she has her reasons for what she puts in her stories but I won’t lie and say I like the Blueblood aspect. To be fair to her, most people do this with Blueblood to some extent. Which I don’t approve of at all as you may have guessed.

Well the way I characterize Blueblood is someone who could be great but believes he’s an idiot or that all he’s good for is his looks/his status because of years of being cast aside by Celestia and his parents and overlooked by the public as nothing more than a socialite. So being with someone like Moondancer would make him more comfortable being himself and think it’s okay to show his true interests and personality under the bravado - and Moondancer would have someone social to help her step out a bit and enjoy life outside of books - also I see Blueblood as doting once he cares for someone and Moondancer neglects cleaning and self care so they have both comedic odd couple potential and the cuteness of someone taking care of Moondancer - he tidies up her cottage and leaves her notes to remind her to take her medicine or eat after long hours of studying. And he surprises her with his knowledge of certain subjects like history or sailing ships.
 
They like each other because they see past the reputations they have and they both need someone like each other to be better.
 
This is rambling but yeah that’s my basis for these two (in a condensed ramble - I have a LOT for these two)
