This fall, My Little Pony: The Movie hits theaters, and this prequel mini-series is your first look at the fantastic adventure to come! Danger looms over Equestria as a new villain debuts!
Well, the Storm King seemed less goofy but even more insane. He’s also sort of scary because he seems less friendly but more mean as a coward. According to his actor Liev Schreiber, the Storm King is a bit odd to draw in temper tantrums.
Well, the Storm King and his minions would never learn friendship, peace, and harmony because they’re evil and the Storm King says that he’s so over the cute pony thing. And also, the Storm King is not the final villain in the film because he was the main villain of the film despite Tempest having more scenes than the Storm King because the leader of an main antagonistic group of a film, or film series, or a tv show, or a franchise will always be the main antagonist.

Meh. I would have compared him to Garmadon in The Lego Ninjago Movie if the footage is any indicater
He’s probably a decoy as he’s so funloving that either
A: He’s gonna en up finding something enjoyable about ponies and work with them.
or
B: His funloving leads to someone who is able to think like the ponies and cause MUCH more trouble for them than it appears.
That being said, his “I have no friends, they are a weakness” speech combined with him being Sindri’d by Strife makes me think storm king will end up learning about friendship and isn’t the true final villain of the movie.
Where were you when Discord showed up?
I don’t have a problem with this.
@Background Pony #C418
To be honest, that worries me a bit. I always found Aku the weakest aspect of the series, precisely because the contrast between gloomy and supposedly threatening and goofy just didn’t work for me. It was like, you see his lair, his awesome theme plays in the background… and then he starts talking.
The concept can work. Discord is one example. And I am not saying that because we’re on a FiM board.
Asd, glad that someone else compared him to Aku.
If this comic is an indication of his personality in the movie, I’m hoping he’s gonna be like Aku from Samurai Jack: dangerous and menacing overall, but not without his goofy, light-hearted moments.
hopefully he’s not like this in the movie as it kind of takes away the intimidation factor
also I can picture Clancy Brown voicing him for some reason.
He looks more like one of the Nightmare Forces.
@Masem
Yeah, he’s very clearly not an umbrum: Look at the umbrum in the siege arc, they all, while shadowy, are still VERY much horses and have very definitive faces.

your current filter.You mean Strife? I dunno.
So he will not be in the movie?
No, I think Katie Cook came back recently.
He may just be a sentient “cloud” thing, there is some question of the umbrum connection , since he lacks equine features.
That would be Strife; an Umbrum who serves as the Storm King’s war captain in the comics.
