One of my favorite movies of all time ^^
I just thought it referred to something that really sucked in the guard and given it talked about a dark hallway, I’d say it is artistic representation of the worst shift in the palace guard duty. The worst, most boring and soul crushingly numb thing that everyone who does it, knows exactly what others mean when they bring it up. Something guards can bond over by complaining over and over again how stupid it all was.
Something that no one except the guards know, like an inside joke. You had to be there to appreciate it.
Didn’t realize how exploitable the scenes were until I saw them still like this.
I like to think the guards actually do something once in a while, too.
Maybe there was a battle in pitch black, where the royal guards had to keep there back to each other just to avoid hitting each other. Maybe their ranks broke, and everyone just started blindly fighting everyone. Maybe Shining Armor and Spearhead were the only survivors, guided to safety by nothing but each other’s voices. Maybe they had no idea who had killed whom, and they have to live with the knowledge that they may have killed their own brothers in arms.
Maybe Spearhead is so scarred that he can only truly express emotions through art. Maybe the emotions he appeared to express during the exhibition were purely artificial. Maybe that’s why he appeared so over-the-top.
Edited
Yeah, I’m on board for some kind of nightmarish combat trauma. The kind of story that ends with pony Marlon Brando in a jungle cave somewhere.
What happened in that hallway? What did they go through together?
I’m practically already writing a fanfic.
You must be really shallow…
