Maybe there was a battle in pitch black, where the royal guards had to keep there back to each other just to avoid hitting each other. Maybe their ranks broke, and everyone just started blindly fighting everyone. Maybe Shining Armor and Spearhead were the only survivors, guided to safety by nothing but each other's voices. Maybe they had no idea who had killed whom, and they have to live with the knowledge that they may have killed their own brothers in arms.
