She wanted easily manipulated scum to do her dirty work for her, who she could drop once they’d served their purpose, and Chrysalis she figured the Umbrum could take care of. Never mind she had to tempt some of them into coming along, it was for the greater good after all.

I wouldn’t say they’re incompatible. They both believe that destiny is not something you have to follow. Only difference lies in the extremes; Hope believes an individual can simply turn away from their destiny if it isn’t what they want while Starlight thought destiny was a burden that she had to remove for everyone.
 
I’d say they would get along right up until Hope decides “Okay we’ve fulfilled our goals” while Starlight figures “No, there’s still more to ‘Equalize’”. Or until Hope realizes that Starlight isn’t giving anyone a choice in the matter.

IIRC yes. IDW mandated a villain team-up while Hasbro only allowed a small pool of choices for that team.

Well I don’t really see Radiant Hope and Starlight getting along that well. While they both have greviances with destiny the ways they handled it couldn’t be any different.

Slight correction: the first issue came out in the middle of season 5 (between episode 14 and 15). Only the final part was after the finale, but considering how the outline of the story would have been finished some time before the first part came out that isn’t really relevant.

My memory’s hazy. Did Starlight even exist when that arc happened?

If only I could talk about Radiant Hope without discussing her powers, but her powers are pretty amazing. I remember I wanted to heal or help people once.

If you did, you would have been literally unstoppable.
