Zipp is reluctant to take the throne, mostly due to expectations that she’ll have to “conform” to the overly restrictive image of a queen.
She still plans on succeeding her mother, but more in a “eventually” kind of way, and a large part of her character arc is trying to square her desire to be a free bird with the expectations of her ascension to the throne.

And/or additionally, bringing over the original description from the source if the image has one. Okay that makes sense.
Thats a pretty compelling arc too.
She has an intelligence and wisdom about her. But ironically her sense of conformity could probably help make her an even better ruler not just doing the same old procedures.

Yeah I’m pretty interested in how it would turn out.
Her character bio implies that she would learn she can still be a free spirit even as queen. Another option would be to let her Pipp take the throne, an option both would love.
The darkhorse option would be Sunny becoming Princess of Equestria, a scenario that lets Zipp have her cake and eat it too by letting her be queen but without the responsibility.
Shame we’ll never see how this plot point ends.

I mentioned this in another thread:
One thing I find really interesting is that at the start of the generation, Pipp’s streams are the culture, and Zipp’s interest in flight is a form of counterculture. But after Zipp successfully rebels and magic returns, flight becomes the new culture, and Zipp is forced to step up and become the new culture’s protector. We see something similar happen, where she steps up and starts acting like Sparky’s mom.
As time goes on, I like the idea of her being queen more and more, since rather than continuing her mother’s lie, she gets to rule over the new world she helped create.

Pretty much agree, except for that last bit. Shipping aside, I don’t think Zipp has shown any actual connection with Sparky any more than the rest of the girls have. I’d say the role of Sparky’s second parent fits Izzy more, and that’s still stretching it a bit.
