It’s a pretty big plot point that magic went away, a smaller point that it’s because of Twilight.

So yes Twilight took the magic away.

The contradiction lies in the fact that RD is saying that she won’t be able to fly anymore because of Twilight sealing away the magic. It’s long been established that the ponies can still fly and use their magic so long as they choose to be united and we even saw pegasi flying by an older Pinkie Pie earlier in the comics after the magic was sealed in the Unity Crystals. This page is implying that it’s because of Twilight that the pegasi won’t be able to fly until a new generation comes along despite the fact that it’s been made clear that the ponies of Twilight’s generation lost the magic by themselves by choosing division after the Unity Crystals were made.

Twilight is not beating the allegations.

Sure but Twilight still took the magic away. RD wasn’t wrong, she was just wrong on when she wouldn’t be able to fly.

Whether that’s an in-character error or an error on the writer’s end is barely even a mistake.

Twilight should have just taken away the magic from Rainbow specifically, just her

Maybe she did and that’s why only Dash is bummed about not being able to fly.

I guess she got her revenge by throwing Twilight under the bus in that last log.

That’s the furthest episode I’m aware of that we have proof of animatics.

I mean, weird lore inconsistencies are nothing new.

Let’s not forget the time they accidentally implied Granny Smith is 100s of years old.

It’s likely just a goof on Jeremy Whitley’s part, given that he’s not written anything for the G5 comics besides this and a story for the 40th Anniversary Special as far as I know.

The G5 Pitch Bible isn’t canon right?

As canon as any other show bible? Like very little has been contradicted in the show itself. It even mentioned things that took several chapters to fulfill, like the Misty/Alphabittle connection.

i mean the pitch bible did say Sunny was supposed to be the main/focus character and look whst happened :p

I’ve seen a lot of hurtful things before but none is going to make me cry myself to sleep like this one.

Did Sunny even get a focus episode after the Movie?

Doesn’t matter. We see Spike ascertain in The Isle of Scaly that it was the fault of the ponies that the magic was lost, not the fault of the creation of the Unity Crystals. Add the contradiction with previously established G5 comic canon on top of it and this is very likely a goof on the comic writer’s part.

The Isle of Scaly came out a year ago.

To the day, I think.

I just wish we got all of this in the actual series

I think Hasbro overestimates how much of the fandom actually pays attention to the comics, something this important should have been adressed in MYM (or TYT) and much earlier too

Definitely liking what we’ve been getting with G5 animations lately…

Aside from that crude fun, we also got another masterpiece from Robin Jacks.

Stunning to see such high-quality 3D models and animation for a blooper video. :D
