Loving how everyone’s crying the same trite “G5 IS THE STAR WARS SEQUEL TRILOGY” spiel right now over something in the comics that might not even be canon. When will it end?

Well if we wanna get literal, it’s actually Friday where I’m at.

I’ve read the page that’s getting everyone mad, and I’m just like…I can’t believe everyone keeps forgetting about this…

If you’re upset with how it seems like the person who wrote the page that’s getting everyone mad forgot this too or wasn’t aware of it, that’s another story. But still, come on…how many times do we have to go over this?

I checked all 3 of the image with the RD page and im not seeing people going into “freakout” mode tbh.

Mainly just a few people saying that they are disappointed with how the backstory was handled, other people defending it, and the only “freakout” i saw was the first one getting locked down becuase people were arguing on if Appledash was canon or not

I give up trying to understand the story of G4’s demise. Too much confusion at once.

Idk why you’re finding fun out of other’s freakouts. I know you’re a massive G5 fan and defender, but cmon, people are reasonably upset. Also, told ya that many forget about the earlier G5 comics.

I wonder if Pipp and Zipp are descendants of Rainbow Dash. She founded Zephyrheighs after all.

Honestly, the actual information we’ve been given has been relatively consistent. The comics are off doing there own thing, but that’s nothing new.

That said, I really wish they’d just gotten the show bible’s pitch of the blank period out of the way by the time MYM ended. I get it - they were going for a slow burn of new information - but as a follow up to a series we actually saw, people are pretty invested in knowing how the world got into the seemingly poor state it was in, and it’s hard not to assume the worst when all the information we started with was that the Kingdom of G4’s finale was no more. How much “THAT MAGIC WAS NOT YOURS TO GIVE” would we have been spared if we just got a clear answer from earlier on?

Actual info from what, MYM? Not sure what you’re referring to. Also, I think the way G4/G5 things have been put out there (show or comic) still hasn’t made most folks agree with one another, at least according to my own observations. I see some have a pretty firm grasp on their beliefs, even still saying comics are show canon. Still, it makes me want to move away from debating anymore. Idk, I just personally feel burned out on the chaos that happened post ANG.

Making myself more clearer: We have seen 2 animatics for unreleased episodes but I must wonder how many unreleased animatics are left for any remaining unreleased TYT episodes?

EQD is loaded with whining over this right now and people on Twitter are using this page as justification for why they “don’t consider G5 canon”.

Because it’s always like this and I get sick of it. <_< I even just saw someone point out how the complaining here is hypocritical with how G4 comics can contradict G4 show canon and it can just be dismissed as noncanon but a G5 comic contradicting G5 show canon (and prior G5 comic canon) makes for something that can be used to smear the entire generation.

Like, no one likes this contradiction, including me, but there are flaws with the way this is being criticized.

If g5 decided to cut away from G4. Because mentioning them both at once even once is their trigger phrase. Surprisingly or unsurprisingly, this comic of all other g5 comics before that is one bringing back the drama. So there’s a pattern somewhere since every other g5 issue emitted no response beyond meh. They don’t care if Milkyway’s Discord’s replacement, they don’t care about the seaponies returning since it’s not the same kind that are originally hippogriffs, but mention any g4 references explicitly and you got this.

Classic Jeremy Whitley. What happens when you ask a guy who despite working at IDW doesn’t ever cross-reference other works made by other people in the same company. In a way, it’s a hiccup but I wasn’t expecting it to be that bad. It just means the ones who read it, did not remember that other issue or didn’t read it. This image sums it up best and besides, in fairness, it’s just classic IDW.

RD REALLY didn’t get the memo. But you know, headcanons no matter how logical does not solve inconsistent canon because it’s not canon by default anyway.

At this point? I don’t think it matters how clear anymore. If maybe Opaline had that melting touch, they would be more convinced. Or not. Because Twilight supposedly faced gods before which none of the other villains are before Opaline.
