The one flaw with the Star Wars comparisons is that most of the baddies in Star Wars are actually cool. Our villains are the most pathetic and unfuckable losers you can imagine, and are only getting as far as they are because the (nominal) opposition is even more inept.

So Musk is deciding to re-hire the DOGE staff who turned out to be an incredibly hateful bigot because “He’s a kid who made a few stupid mistakes”
  1. he’s 25, that’s not in the range of “kid doing stupid things”, he should know better at that age
  2. Saying that White people should not have interracial relationships and that Whites are genetically superiors to Black people is not “a stupid mistake”, it’s incredibly racist
