@OptimusPrimevil
I haven’t watched the series itself but from what I’ve heard the lead is about as interesting as bare toast. And I’m sorry, but I like my mecha protagonists to at least have SOME personality.
@SquiggyBomb
true, but it’s a short series (less than 30 episodes) so it’s a nice distraction. personally, most of the stuff he did/does in the series won’t work if he wasn’t so stoic.
@SquiggyBomb
the main character isnt as bad as that, he doesnt have the biggest of personalities but it is pretty neat to see him come up with his plans and such. hes not that great but hes not that terrible
@MoogSourceVermona
i didn’t know about all the hype about “bigger than gundam” so i didn’t have a very high expectation of it ,so i wasn’t let down in anyway except there are still so much unaswered stuff.
it’s more of a vent but i hate it when people blast the show for it’s science but are more than forgiving about the science in other robot shows (gundam pixie dust and space psychics!!!)
@OptimusPrimevil
See this is why I’m a super robot kinda guy. No one gives a shit about the science in super robot shows because they’re too distracted by all the glorious masculinity!
@SquiggyBomb
some ‘real’ robot shows goes overboard with the ‘science’ that it becomes downright “super robot in all but name”.
gundam has really gone down the hill IMO because (for marketing reasons mostly) almost all of the new stuff since the 90s require a gundam to fight a gundam (less originality).
@SquiggyBomb
if they can only get past gaogaigar (most of the modern brave products have been gaogaigar ones). probably an appearance in an SRW game would rekindle the Brave spirit.
