This is a world where Smartest Horse’s plan to determine which Pinkie Pie was real was to force them to endure a Squid Game which even the real Pinkie Pie stood a frighteningly high chance of losing, and did nothing to actually confirm whether the losers or winner was fake or real, instead of a basic knowledge test that would question things the clones had no chance of learning like “what is your mom’s name” or “what did you eat for dinner yesterday”. Well, I could be wrong, but my understanding is that cigars were introduced to England from Spain following the Peninsular war (that part of the Napoleanic wars where Britain invaded Spain to support the Spanish evicting Napolean’s forces), and they didn’t become popular until HRH Edward made them fashionable for high society.

Snuff was definately a thing for the elite classes in the Napoleanic era - Napolean himself used it (as did Queen Charlotte, George III’s wife, altho I don’t think the king did).

Granted, that doesn’t comport with the Austen novels (which I haven’t read, so I can’t really reconcile it).

Definately going to go look for this on Amazon - I used to love fantasy series but haven’t read one in many years. I do fear it won’t be as accurate as you suggest, tho. For instance, reading the Wikipedia article you linked, it says the protagonist “was promoted Admiral”. That didn’t happen in the Royal Navy in Napoleanic times (basically an officer started as a midshipman, was promoted lieutenant if he passed a test, was promoted to captain (“made post”) on merit, and then eventually became an admiral by seniority (if he lived long enough). Periodically the Admiralty would advance a whole bunch of captains to admirals if there was a specific captain they wanted to get to admiral rank (the captains thus advanced were called “Admirals of the Yellow” to distinquish them from the sea-going Admirals of the Blue, White, and Red, and knew they wouldn’t get a sea-going commission). Errors of detail like that can detract from my enjoyment of a book (altho of course it could just be bad wording in Wikipedia) - I gave up on O’Brian’s Aubry series because they just got steadily more removed from historical accuracy as he went on.

Okay, the idea of Sphinxy running a gameshow is honestly kinda fitting for her. She always makes riddles that are near-impossible to solve, so why not have a way to test people on them?

I spent a good part of today chewing on the ad image for the game. It also includes a time-lapse video (which I will also upload to Derpibooru, you bet your bottom dollar!) At the time of typing, it is by no means complete.

Some would argue that taking an entire year to work on such a small RPGmaker game would be an L. No. The real L would be if I tried to implement these plugins out of the box in Sala’s Escape and turned THAT into a jumbled, poorly planned mess like Princess Rescue is under the hood (To me anyway, others might not see it that way. Or maybe something will break in release and I’ll get cucked again, seems par for the course with this shit.)

Now that the initial work is over, I can turn my attention back to Sala’s Escape. While that’s going on, maybe I’ll find some line of sight plugins so the ghosts players are trying to hide from don’t see through the walls and hone in on them. I would also like to, at some point, implement a leader system so dialogue and cgs etc. are affected depending on who the player has in position one.

There is also the idle tinkering I can do at random intervals, making future content a bit more efficient on my end. Hell, I’ve already laid out the whole Mansion level (the one with the maids) right down to the final boss, and I fleshed out the vampire level a bit long before I’m even ready to open those up! All the pieces are there already.

Hell, even right now I’m working on a bit of the Chaos Level, specifically the end part of it which I will not spoil.

Here is a bit of a roadmap, subject to change of course:

-> I want to tinker with the vampire stuff, day/night cycle, and the afore mentioned stealth plugins. So the next likely move will be to finish the maid mansion level and the vampire level.

->At some point, I have to do the Chaos levels. Which, as the name implies, are going to be completely nuts and will require creating male CGs for all of the previous maps. This can be a sort of building block for everything else.

->Upon completion of both, I will move on to the machine level, perhaps I can try out some multi-limbed mecha or timed mission things for merciless modes.

->Once that has been completed, I will turn my attention to the changeling hive. I don’t know exactly what I’d want to test here, but you can be sure of a lot of “The thing” kind of shit going on here.

-> up at the top are two sort of ‘bonus levels’ I guess? The sanitarium and the Everfree Forest. No idea what I’m going to do with them specifically

-> Finally, to bring it all home, we do the citadel of King Sombra himself. THe final showdown (of ultimate destinyyyyy) with Flim and Flam, Queen Chrysalis, and King Sombra himself. To find Twilight and enact… a princess rescue. Rated R.

It is my professional opinion that Princess Rescue’s testing is complete. Barring some other tiny things here and there, all that is really left is the ad, and the posting.

There are a few non-important things I’d like to shimmy in there at some point, but it’s pretty well done.

Yeah is a tricky position, my brain also struggled a bit with telling how the legs were. In these case, could attempt to reduce the vibrance/saturation in one of the legs lightly to set them apart.

Go figure: I’ve been up all night and forgot what I’ve been testing for (but bounced around what future content I had in there.) Well, this went to shit. I’m going to bed. I’ll do some more testing tomorrow.

There are days when I feel like whatever I’m working on has come alive and is just trying to spite me.

So yesterday, I tested the various combination states and found that the game, for whatever reason, just didn’t want to detect the battler image and would crash. I found only by copying it in clip paint studio, pasting it in a new document, and giving it an entirely different name did it co-operate.

And now I find that the ‘kidnap’ function just straight up doesn’t work when one of the targets is in their underwear.

Edit: I fixed it.
