Do you think you speak from a position to help them improve? I had issues with the episode, but I don’t write on a show for a living. If you voice your opinion to the writers, they are in a position to either go “yeah, that sounds like something we could work on” OR decide your input wasn’t very valuable and ignore it. You aren’t automatically right and don’t necessarily have a worthwhile critique just because you have an opinion. You might, I’m not saying you have to be an artist to critique art, but your critique might be invalid, and the artists aren’t “defensive” and incapable or taking criticism just because they don’t do what you tell them to.

Slice of Life was made to be a fun romp that didn’t take itself seriously even a little, this was meant be be a “back to the main event” episode that just decided to dump all over Spike under the pretense that he deserves it for being selfish for like 5 minutes, AFTER doing everything he can to make a bad situation good.
