I dunno, Kirby fans are very nice in the Kirby thread in the Derpibooru forums, and I wasn’t even aware it, and Splatoon had their fair share of drama, but it’s not surprising as I’m sure every fandom does.  
There’s no such thing as a “perfect” fandom. Even those “good” fandoms you mention have probably have at least a few A-holes in them somewhere out there.
 
When I first joined the brony fandom, (in the Season 1 days) I thought it was very chill, rarely saw any drama, and I thought it was nearly perfect fandom, but as time went on I realized it wasn’t perfect either, and I’ve had both good & bad experiences with bronies/MLP fans.

Splatoon wants a word.
 
In seriousness, I’ll admit the Sonic fandom can get…a little wild Sonic Lost World did nothing wrong, but it’s nowhere near as close to the bottom of the sludgepit. Splatoon fans will persecute you for not liking their favorite Squid Sister (the biggest example being a certain Callie fan whom I despise), Kirby fans have an ego the size of space and time, and I remember back in 2015 the Total Drama fandom annoyed me to no end. Sonic fans can be fixer-uppers, but that’s a minor thing.
 
And yes, I know I’m SUPER late, but as someone’s who really super into Sonic as of late, I had to speak of this. If you want a good fandom, try ARMS. Twintelle hype train aside, they’re extremely chill.

Mostly the Sonic Fandom at this point (baring a few kids who like the new and largely retro sonic games) is a collection of people who remember with fondness an age long past. When Sonic’s combination of flippancy and cartoon cuteness with A TOUCH of an edge was a new and novel combination, something different from Mario who was always a square through and through. When the games were distinctive colorful high speed platformers accompanied by a Halfway decent cartoon which was a cut above the average schlock. When the focus of their fandom was one of the biggest names in video gaming, running neck and neck with only one competitor. Before the cash cow was not only milked dry, but milked with a rusty old milking machine that is covered with the bacteria of ineptitude.
 
Barring a modest selection of spazes they are not hyper, they are not annoying or in your face. They just want to enjoy what nostalgia value they have left and hold onto the vain hope that there will someday someone will give enough of a shit to make something good of their franchise again. Not a return to the glory days long past, but something they can point to and be proud of in this modern age.

Here’s a li’l advice… You don’t like people giving you crap for liking ponies? Don’t give people crap for liking hedgehogs. You need to accept people like things you don’t.  
Heck, I don’t like ‘shipping, (though I will admit some shipping pics are cute) but I don’t bash those that like it.
 
I like Sonic, (admittedly I prefer Mario) is that such a crime? Chill, people.

Because people are entitled to their opinions, I guess. (No matter how biased.)  
But I suppose they do bring drama, and bashing other fanbases doesn’t exactly reflect well on the brony-fandom… Still, I don’t want to take away free-speech from the site, even if I disagree with the message of the image.
 
Especially, sense alot of us are somewhat into Sonic, and other things non-pony-related to.

I don’t get why this type of images are not erased from this page.

Also, quite ironic of you to say that, sense you seem unaware that I have defended BOTH bronies, and Sonic fans on this site, and other places MANY times. Even ones I’ve disagreed with, believe it, or not.  
Though, I can’t deny both have their few negative fans to. I’m not generalizing, if I was I’d be saying ALL fans were like that.
 
Also, I bare no ill-will against those who don’t like newer pony seasons, or newer Sonic games, so don’t even try to twist that around on me. I was just showing that both fanbases have similar complaints, and do similar things. (Both positive, and negative.) As both a Sonic fan, AND brony personally, I’ve had experience with fans in both places.  
I’ve seen cool/nice Sonic fans, and bad/insane Sonic fans. Same with bronies.

Gee, that doesn’t sound at all like somebody who would grossly misrepresent and generalize either of those sides in an attempt to make one seem as equally bad as the other.

I got to say it’s ironic to see bronies of all people trying to shame people for liking Sonic.  
Especially, how similar both fanbases can be at times… (Especially, the negative sides.)
