Description
From the special’s book adaptation. This character’s name is Kerfuffle. She’s a fashion designer like Rarity, and she appears to have a prosthetic leg.

She honestly looks fine to me there. I’ve seen plenty of ponies (canon and fanmade) that are brighter than this. I think some people just got used to her in monochrome form.
I love Pinkie Pie and Fluttershy. But compared to her monochrome form here she’s just SO bright at the end.
You know what? After further analysis maybe it’s not her mane that is too bright, it’s her coat color:
Generally the coat is less saturated than their manes but that is absolutely not the case with her. She absolutely glows. But maybe that’s just accurate to her personality. Also I’m just used to seeing her desaturated since she’s that way 90% of the movie so she just seems very bright after.
To be fair, the shades of pink for Pinkie Pie and Fluttershy isn’t as light as Kerfuffle’s.
What’s wrong with pink? Do you also dislike how Fluttershy and Pinkie look?
@Background Pony #3374
I quite like her normal color scheme.
@CaptainGrumpy
I can’t blame you for being cynical but for the most part, people really seem to love her.
Yeah. Her mane is… a very vibrant pink.
What I have issues with is that I apparently prefer Kerfuffle’s subdued color appearance over her more colorful appearance.
That’s because Kerfuffle, as well as Tempest Shadow from the 2017 movie, are good examples of the irrefutable truth that amputees and handicaps can do just as good in the world as normal people. …Which is a lot.
Her cuteness doesn’t hurt, either.

They can, they just cost a lot more.
I guess
Idk, I guess this is just kind of a comparatively more… realistic portrayal of a prosthetic? As compared to a pirate peg leg at least.
Not to mention Captain Celaeno also had a pegleg:

Wasn’t it already canon in the MLP movie? You know… Tempest Shadow?

I’m careful not to ask people questions they probably have to answer a lot unless it’s something I need to know.
But everyone else might be as considerate and do the same so maybe they don’t get asked it a lot? So maybe you’re in the clear. At least make it your sixth or seventh question into your little chat.
I could see Rarity asking about it eventually because of the aesthetics put into it. It’s quite pretty compared to just a crude peg leg.
@HumanGhosts
This is true! And I think the characters and the writing are more interesting because of it.
Boring truth: Stellar Eclipse is in a horse wheelchair because his actor is handicapped
@SJArt117
The same question I ask myself every time I see an amputee. Not to pick at them, but rather to simply understand, so as to get some pointers as to how to avoid such accidents in the future and what could be done to avoid such an accident occurring in the future - to anyone, really.
TBH Kerfuffle’s prosthetic leg reminds me of Terry Fox’s
(Don’t be a buzzkill. I know who the writer is. Hoping for the best.)
I think it would be interesting if we never learn. Just acknowledge her prosthetic but not make it a plotpoint. Ponies/people don’t need to be about their disability.
