No, but if I wanted to I suppose I could have. It went down past my butt. If I braided it, I probably could have spun it in one hand like a propeller for some relief from the heat xD .
Did you fan yourself with it?
Why? It was fun.
Agreed.
Really? Nah, I don’t think so. But Yona has seriously some of the cutest moments in Season 8 so far. ;-D
I know. I was joking.
Also I was getting the impression that people thought she was just playing with her hair because she was bored.
Well, all rational discussion is pointless once people start to bring their personal feelings for a character into play. Or the personal connection to this character. That makes any discussion collapse in a very short time, so I will not go into it any further here.
And that faning air was too obvious, I think, to mention it. But yes, it looks quite cute and is even a rather clever idea of the animators. ;-)
@genervt
Sure he didn’t hurt anyone, but terrifying best yak is still unforgivable.
Also, no one seems to realize that what Yona is doing here is using her braids to fan herself.
Thing is, whether or not he was out to hurt them, he did nothing to stop it from happening. That was others stepping in. So, at best, it was incredibly careless, which is also in-character for him.
He does that (especially when he is upset).
Discord still went too far, however.
Maybe he made it so the bugbear wouldn’t actually have hurt her if she got bitten or stung? We are talking about Discord, a being that can do anything. Discord wasn’t trying to hurt anyone, he was just trying to make it harder for Starlight to control over the students because he felt left out and insulted, and if anyone got hurt he could probably just have snapped his fingers and undo the harm. Discord can also probably see into the future so he may have known that the Mane Six were going to be okay after their adventure, or maybe he thought Fluttershy was just spending time with her friends on a little adventure?
(shrug)
I don’t see why I should do that (making excuses), especially since it’s always such a lame accusation from people who just can’t handle the fact that certain people have a different opinion than they do. But okay. I don’t want to fight.
And I think you’re making excuses. That leaves us at an impasse.
I looked closely at the episode before I posted my statement. Or the scene you’re probably referring to. I always do, before I give an answer. But thank you for the kind reminder. I’m old, but not that old. ;-)
If it really would have hurt, then certainly not the first words you say: “Why are you doing this? You’re the worst!” Seriously. Who says such a thing? Besides, we’re still talking about a family show. I very much doubt that massive violence is being shown here. It may have hurt as much as the pain with an electric joke.
I’m sorry, but I’m just not following you into your head canon. As I said before, some people just tend to exaggerate massively. You taking these things far too seriously. ;-D
Edited
The words you’re looking for is “caring fellow”.
And you’re right, because it was just a little scratch when Discord shocked them with lightning, the first thing coming out of Spike’s mouth was
Clearly no sign of worries there.
It’s not a cultural thing. Go look at the episode again, I think you forgot parts of it.
Sorry, maybe it’s just a cultural thing. In my country, we have too words for hurt. “Es schmerzt”. And: “Es tut weh”. The first is pain. The last is … well. A little bit pain. Like a scratch on the knee. So don’t be such a … Spike doesn’t look and act like he was in agony. And he was rude before. Punishment is necessary. ;-)
Edit: But I admit I may be a little biased here as an ex-veteran. I would therefore also like to admit that I do not see things the way others do. No offense.

That’s quite true. I wish he had apologized for what he did to the students, or the mane six for that matter. That would go a long way to show he’s not as heartless as he came across here.
At least he apologized to Spike and Big Mac.
You’re right, the fact that Spike explains that it hurt proves it didn’t. How foolish of me. You, sir, are making excuses for a terrible being, but if you feel comfortable with that, so be it.
But that’s what the whole joke is based on. Thank you.
Like I said, I’m not saying the joke was funny or the scene is well written. But taking it out on the character is just bullshit. At least in my opinion.
That’s terrible for large people.
You mean the pain in the game? Oh, yes, that must have hurt terribly. And it doesn’t move within the framework of what roleplayers like Spike think up for their games. The fact is: Discord reflects only as much as one brings into it. ;-)
A ridiculous claim from someone who doesn’t know how writers build dramas. I’m not saying it was good. Except it’s ridiculous to draw the wrong conclusions.

You may assume that, but I don’t. He was so out of control, yes, I believe he would have hurt them through sheer carelessness at best.
To be fair, I´m sure that he would never hurt the students.
He just made their life difficult.
