Good question: for me, as much as franchises get created.
But then you can divide it by studios, countries, age ratings, ages of animation, shared universes, canon…
To sum up, as long as we have imagination and think individually, this land has all the worlds we can wish. It’s made of our memories and tastes…
You know, and now I’m being serious, sometimes, thinking and imagining like this, like eternal overgrown children… It’s quite worthy.

Imagine that Equestria is a continent in the ever-expanding world of Toonland and it makes a lot more sense. A wacky kind of sense but a sense.

If it makes you feel better, I was a Tiny Toons fan when I was 10. Along with Dragon Ball, Kinnikuman, Captain Tsubasa, Sonic (Pingas version. SatAm never catched on me),Dr. Slump, TMNT, Calimero , Urusei Yatsura, Ranma 1/2, Sailor Moon, Saint Seiwa, The Real Ghostbusters, Inspector Gadget, Bionic 7, Animaniacs, and a looong list.
And I LOATHED the G1 of MLP (still do).
