Alright here we go guys. First comic to the newer account. As I said this transition is gonna feel a little weird at first but sooner or later I think stuff will settle in nicely. So here we go again on the comics…same pony as you can tell. Now this was a fun comic I did…as I said I am backlogged on stuff from Mid-October-now but I am getting stuff working now and cleaned up a lot better. This comic I did go back and polish up some of the lineart compared to what it was originally and you may have seen that in the livestreams the last 2 nights. Really starting to get a handle on this new style finally….like I think I know now a better way to so the muscle lines and stuff like that. I think I will save the shading stuff to the single pics cause that stuff at the moment takes a while to do since I am kind of new to softer shading than cell shading on my anthros/DBZ stuff. Muffin is in this.
Firstly I need to give a huuuuuge thanks to cause back in October he really came in the clutch for me on that panel 3 AJ pose. I had a good start to it and stuff but damn he gave me a sketch clean up that helped me out a ton to to get that AJ to what it looks like….especially since I never tried a pose like that before. I always said I wanna try always at least one new thing in any of these comics. The panel 2 Dash is a tick off body wise but it’s fine for what it is and same with the other one. Sometimes you just gotta let stuff just flow and roll with it. Honestly though speaking of the background on this comic….holy crap was this a pain in the ass. Like we have the ponyville spa but this is taking it to a level they don’t have in the show and style. I am trying to remember other spa comic I did recently that had a couple of spa images I built a ponyville spa BG with but this one was almost exclusively built as a normal spa you’d see anyone go to. That was a fun challenge but I spent a little longer I remember in October than I planned to on it. I think it was like 4 solid nights of working on the background alone. But that’s what usually happens on backgrounds I never attempted before…especially one like this. I really like how the wonderbolt AJ looks….notice the wing slit I left in there? Hehe gotta have that little bit of detail. Oh and also this isn’t a shipping comic….I don’t do those type of ships as you all know.
Ight guys so that’s all I got on this…I think the comic speaks for most of what I could have said and stuff. So S8 is fast approaching and honestly it’s gonna be an interesting season with me and my usual episode comics I like to do. Since I have seen all the leaked episodes which was like 7 or 8 I believe I will be switching those comics into post EP comics or single pics. It honestly will depend if I can come up with good post episode comics…..more than likely I will but they will be like 2-3 panels at most since those EPs have been out so long people have probably a lot of art loaded up for them. We’ll see…I did the S8 EP 1 comic so that will be in waiting till the end of March. For now guys, onto the next one which I think will be another single pic.

Same issue happens. I can’t see it.
Wait, you didn’t know that images on Derpibooru have a view option? Click on the eye and you get this link.
https://derpicdn.net/img/view/2018/2/17/1658391.png
This is what I do, I don’t enlarge the image by clicking on the image.
I don’t click on it, and it’s too small and blurry to comfortably read. I click on it again, and the area where the comic should be is just the Derpibooru background. I click again and I get an “Oh Snap” message.
This is on my Mobil Phone. On the computer, it loads without any problems.
Well then your cell phone is underpowered and/or old. I can load this comic instantly on my phone.
It’s not the size of my screen that’s the problem, it’s more that I’m not even able to load the image in the first place!

From the comments I’ve seen in other artwork from Tox, I can definitely see what you mean. I thought giving my insight on how his actions are hurting the audience that still sticks around! Of course, I could dive into other topics that would need addressing, but considering I can’t read through the comic at all…
If you are loading the image on a phone then it should automatically resize the image for your phone (unless you have the phone set up indirectly or something).
We tried to convince him to make the files smaller long time ago and he just doesn’t care. It’s not about making logical moves, he’s simply this petty. He wants to do the opposite of what people suggest just so he remains “independent”. For some reason, he thinks it’s embarrassing to take any advice from anyone.
Then we have his silly excuses like “people didn’t whine about it for so long so now you’re just targetting me”
Also, if you offer a service on two different platforms, and you know one of them won’t help your audience read your comic strips (and they have voiced concerns very clearly as far as I’ve seen), and both can face the file size crashes either way, then redirecting your readers to just one page renders the other moot. You can very heavily decrease viewership from people giving up on reading because the page crashed, or they forget to check your other platform, from skipping the extra-long description or from simple forgetfulness. It has happened to me, and it really isn’t that difficult of a change in your workflow to work smaller, or to render a smaller, web-friendly image for uploading purposes.
I hope my account enlightens you to reconsider your audience’s pleas for better showing of your artwork!
I was done.

While we’re far from a rule #0 violation, I think everyone would probably be on better terms if you talked less about the others’ perceived intentions when discussing perceived problems, making things personal can lead to escalation.
I mean I’m not whining, I’m just saying that there isn’t much of a reason for the files to be as large as they are and excessively large files will cause trouble for some people. Though if you want to dismiss that point it’s fine, as I said you can do as you please.
But yea, I am going to take your complete refusal to respond to my question as an indicator that you are not interested in critique, which is fine. I’ll stop asking about it and bow out of this exceptionally one sided conversation.
Edited
I mean he can if he wants to, there’s no rule that says he cant. Though there’s not nessarily a reason to and it will cause problems for some people.
He’s gonna say he’s always uploaded big files and no one had any issues with that (it’s not true).
The reason it loads faster on Deviantart is because it doesn’t display the full resolution image on the site itself. For example in the source you linked it will only display an 800x3650 image instead of a 4469x20535 image, it only displays the full 4469x20535 image if you click the download link on the right and if I’m correct that will actually load slower than the 4469x20535 image will load on Derpibooru.
As much as I’m normally an advocate for minimum compression and maintaining file sizes I do have to agree that there is no reason for your comics to be as large as they are. You could literally upload them as 800x3650 files and no details are lost whatsoever. If you don’t beleive me just go and compare them for yourself.
Deviantart At 800x3650
Derpibooru At 4469x20535
This image size is excessive for a vector style 4koma comic with no dynamic shading.
Now other than that I take it that the response to my previous question was an implied “No I don’t want critique” since you never actually gave me a response? I just wanted to know if your stance on critique has changed at all with the new account. I don’t want to waste your time with it if you’re not interested.
10 mb is a lot. Way too much. You should compress your files more. Compare with other comic-making fan-artists.
Actually I think it has to do with depibooru cause 10mb is pretty small. Next time I’d just directly click the deviantart link cause it will open much faster. :)
