vector title: Broken Downvote
here’s Downvote or Downy, trying to fall asleep while still being traumatized by the past event. although she’s safe now, she know that in any moment, her life could get taken away.. again.
She have no idea, but she was doomed since the day that she was created/personified, as the discussion of having her removed from this site have been ongoing since the past 2 years…
about the dark line in her neck area? that need to be referred to this >>1494429

Edited because: More heartfelt words
Yeah. There was only one mod on duty for the story queue all weekend, and he wanted a second opinion on it. That was what he said too.
That was a really long mod deliberation process.
I knew it…
I want to give her a hug and tell her that I love her even if she goes away.

Same.
I really like that.
@ManDash17
I would love to see an image of Upvote comforting Downvote after all she’s been through.
lol. Whatever works. I’m finding actually writing to be a pretty brutal problem, myself, so there’s nothing wrong with writing half-asleep with toothpaste on the mirror if that somehow works. So long as you don’t mind cleaning up a mess after snapping a pic
Or maybe just with a phone in bed or something.
yall would probably laugh at how it was written. I never get anything done in writing with the monitor on and I was mostly asleep for it all.
Why, my next story might be the one where Twilight is a brain in a jar.
I’m ping-ponging several ideas around in my head. It’s fun to play with readers’ emotions and make them care about things they otherwise wouldn’t care about.
Take this whole Downvote drama, for example.
If I just told you some people made really emotional pieces about a site feature getting removed - that just sounds crazy, and there’s no way you’d feel sad over it. But have a cute character, years of familiarity, personify the feature, and then draw this >>1494429 and bam.
So Downvote doesn’t even need to be a pony. In fact, I’d feel much more accomplished if I managed to make readers both confront deep, hard questions at the same time they feel invested in her if she’s not a pony.
And making it a one-sided sort of subversive secret trial would make it too, well, one-sided, cheap and easy. The real fun is if you can make someone simultaneously feel sad about something but accept it.
There’s a lot of neat stuff you can do - sadly, at this point, mostly stuff I’ve only thought about doing. So I just need to write and stop thinking about writing so much :q

Right. Why not a story that details such a secret trial?
Which, to their credit, was only secret due to the apparent lack of interest and because their normal channels of communication are secret. Steel was a fair character in that regard. Always heard she was a menace and all that, but saw a different response out of nowhere.
Hmm. Might try my own hoof at some sort of allegory, because it’s a neat sort of plotline. It gets even more interesting when you consider that her “crimes” weren’t really entirely-harmless pranks. The main reason they were gonna pull her was artists going DNP because of downvote abuse.
I’m pretty sure the lack of trial can be an allegory for the mods’ decision-making process – lots of talking in the back room, but nothing public until they actually implemented it. Sorta like a secret trial.
Pretty good. In some spots it felt a little rushed, not sure what could’ve fixed that exactly. Also just my opinion. Others might not feel that way.
Some things don’t fit together all too well, like the lack of a trial and all that doesn’t make sense for Equestria, like this action should’ve included some prominent and powerful members of society calling on some really extenuating circumstances to be able to execute such an operation (heh). But that’s all okay if you just accept it’s meta, it’s just it doesn’t blend smoothly with the world.
But, despite how critical that seems to be, it was actually still pretty decent as far as fic goes, and the prose was actually good. So not bad.
Basically all over. With all due respect to the author, it’s like he’s never heard of spellcheck.
wew, i might not notice which part that you’ve edited because i just quickly fast read it once before you done the edit, lol
Look at it now; I’ve just finished editing it.
Whoa dude, I’ve just finished reading that and it’s seriously good, like very very good and well written! :o
If it got approved at fimfiction later, you should totally apply for the magical inkwell badge because you’re totally worth it for that badge :D
Oh, I’m all over that.
Oh man, trust me, I get it. My normal day runs 3:30 AM to 10:30 PM. I don’t know when the hell I’m typing half this stuff.
Anyways, I’m just gonna drop a link to this for the google doc I’m editing. :https://docs.google.com/document/d/1ttnlHkHHeWVo-ohWEeLPIsPihcCnFBzeLYR7gdg9KAI/edit?usp=sharing
Anyone should be able to comment on it.
