There are lazy, entitled people, but I feel that many of this generation deal with impossible expectations from parents who want their kids to be the next Bill Gates and employers who make employment confusing, frustrating, daunting to impossible (catch 22s aplenty) and oftentimes not worth the pay.

The catch-22s you mention are a serious issue, I agree. How can you be expected to work if you can’t afford the things required to start working? Surely that would make you doomed to fail from the start, in which case it actually isn’t a person’s fault for failing.

And let’s not forget those people who can’t work because of disabilities but still get guilt-tripped for needing government assistance to stay off of the streets because of a culture of selfishness and greed.

Again, yes, but on the other side of the coin are the benefit frauds that simply pretend to be disabled (often by seriously exaggerating real shortcomings, such as lack of motivation) for a free ride. You know, the people that self-diagnose themselves with ADHD, ASD etc. So it’s a double-whammy for the genuinely disabled.

It’s great to work hard in school, overcome disabilities, get a masters degree, and then get made to feel like you failed because no-one will touch you for a job because employers automatically assume you’re an entitled millenial. America, folks. You make a few mistakes and you lose everything unless you and your parents are loaded with money.

Plus, I think everyone should have the right to healthcare without debt, since good health is important to life and productivity. Free healthcare would have saved me from two of my trips to the hospital and possibly even kept me from becoming disabled.

I would like to point out, that what is usually meant by “free” healthcare, is taxpayer-funded healthcare. What is meant by “free” is “free at the point of delivery”.

I’m also really sorry that you have become disabled. As someone that was genuinely born with autism (doctors thought I’d never learn to talk), I can certainly attest to the fact that the effect of disabilies is real and that we aren’t just lazy. I understand this is a senitive subject, but may I ask which disability it is you acquired?

Not everyone qualifies for scholarships, I’ll admit aother of millennials are lazy and entitled, but millenials have inherented a broken economy, you have to study time be a doctor or lawyer in order to be able to pay off student loans, maybe it’s just because I’m a humanist, but I don’t think you should have to go in debt to get and education

Also, enlisting for and serving your country will give you an option for a benefit known as the Post 9/11 GI Bill (If you live in the US, IDK about how other countries do it). It’s a great tool to help with college.
I’m excited to use it one day. Best thing I could ever do for myself, a struggling millenial.

I just went to college for free because I bothered applying for scholarships. But cool story bro.

There’s lots of good jobs you can get without a college degree. You know how much college you need to become a fiber optic technician? Zero–and you can literally download the certification material for free. I know a pair of guys who took it up after high school, and now make more than I do with a fancy BA.
Hell, I know a systems admin who never even set foot in a college.

It’s high-status white collar office work millennials feel entitled to, because they grew up being told they’d all be coders, social media managers, or “creative consultants”.
So now the ones that do end up in college because of their rich parents just embarrass themselves with crap like this.

Speaking as a millennial, most of us end up living at home for a while because the economy is complete horeseshit. x) Can’t afford college without a great job, can’t get a good job without college, so the only way college works is 90+ hours a week at three jobs for ten+ years, or being lucky enough to have wealthy parents. Then to add another layer, there’s the ‘need a car to go to most jobs’, and the ‘can’t afford a car without good jobs’ conundrum. I get the stereotypes, but let’s not underplay the struggle millennials go through, it is immensely real. If you can’t understand that, you’re being ignorant. In the 50’s you could afford college as a waitress, look up the math.

The reason Zephyr is being portrayed as not having the drive and motivation is because it’s just easier for kids to understand than economics. Sure, a lot of people, millennials and otherwise have Zeph’s issues - and I have no doubt there are millennials out there that are bums, just like there are bums in EVERY generation, but the majority of us aren’t looking for a free ride from our parents, it’s just all we can afford right now.

Thanks, previous generations, for this tip top shape economy!

If he was a better con artist and better knew how to masquerade his failures as success, he’d have a lot more in common with the donald.

Don’t be silly. Border jumpers can’t take the kind of virtuous job interdisciplinary studies majors deserve.

As a foreigner, I think our country has made a terrible mistake forging economic ties with the USA - a mistake that will cost us dearly. The writing was already on the wall with the 2008 recession but now we’re looking at a Trump presidency. Heaven help us endure the upcoming storm.

Also it seems that Zephyr Breeze is part of Vape Naysh. Which makes sense as Papa Ethan is a Bernie Supporter.
