Given that oc: tags and canon character tags have their own color, perhaps characters from other series should have their own category or grouping as well?

I’ve been irked by this as well. Earth pony magic is subtle and isn’t as flashy as other forms of magic, despite being canonically a thing, and even the writers forget that it exists. Biggest example of that is in The Crystalling where Pinkie says that Flurry Heart has the wings of a pegasus and the magic of a unicorn, and I’m just like, “…And the strength of an earth pony! Come on, Pinkie, why are you short-selling your own tribe?” Given earth’ ponies under-appreciation out of universe, one could probably write an episode about the contributions of earth ponies being underappreciated by a snobby group of pegasi or unicorns…
 
Alternatively, we could have earth ponies doing interesting things with their magic. For example, one of my OCs (who, hilariously, has a similar color scheme to Amelia here) is what I’d describe as a pony druid - his connection to the land reaching the point where he can cause the earth itself to reshape itself, and animate plants for brief periods. In fairness, he was written for a pony RPG where playing fast and loose with canon for fun and profit is encouraged, but I’ve always enjoyed the concept.

Ditto, Earth Ponies make sense to be attuned with the land that surrounds them and the show definitely entertains that idea. Even animals would make sense, Fluttershy our local expert on that matter was supposed to be an Earth Pony at first I believe. Just y’know, nature!

It is. Near the end of Twilight’s Kingdom Part 1, Celestia confirms it.
 
Twilight Sparkle: How could he do this?! I thought our friendship meant something to him! I thought he had changed.
 
Princess Celestia: Tirek has stolen enough magic that he now has the strength to steal flight as well. Without Pegasi to control the weather, there will be no rain in Equestria. There is word he has gone after Earth ponies as well. Without their strength, they will not be able to tend the land.

So, it is canon that earth ponies have magic, it gives them strength, and allows them to tend the land. We’ve seen a handful of instances in the show that involved them making plants grow super-quickly.
 
However, the show hasn’t confirmed any of the awesome feats performed by earth ponies we’ve seen as being earth pony magic. Like the stuff Maud does, the stuff Pinkie Pie and Cheese Sandwich do, and any instance of massive super-strength in the show, such as Big Macintosh pulling a house in Hearts And Hooves Day, or Lilly Longsocks’s super-strength. Are those abilities attainable by all earth ponies, should they train hard enough? That’s the big question.
 
I really wish this show would show us some awesome earth-related stuff and immediately confirm it as being earth pony magic. Just like *snaps fingers* that, this show’s racial balance issues will go out the window…. but the writers seem to be content with repeatedly showing us that having a horn and/or wings simply makes you better. *sigh*

Wakfu is fantastic. I’d rate it, MLP, and A:TLA as my top 3 western animated TV series. Desperately waiting for s3 of Wakfu.
