Too tired to care
@Wispy Tuft
Agreed… That… that name is just awful.
I think Cleo is also cute. It’s too bad NOTHING was chosen though.

She is our Queen
Between this, the other naming polls, and the Derpy debacle I’m going to say that you bronies suck at naming characters. Almost forgot “Snowflake” for Bulk Biceps. So stupid and generic.

If we created a full on AI we would have functionally created a living mind that would be capable of expressing emotions and feeling and thinking just as real as you or me. Just because your head computer is made out of meat doesn’t make you better than a computer made out of metal. If we truly make real, AI it should have the right to draw like anything else. An interesting thing you bring up at the censorship point I’ll have to actually think about whether or not anything should ever be censored because I find censorship as a whole quite reprehensible.

The funny thing is, if it were an actual AI that identifies itself as a living, feeling creature (Sweetie Bot, “Detroit: Become Human”, ect.), I would be okay with them creating art and publishing it. That wouldn’t be much different from a human creating art anymore then. And they’ll likely say no if you ask them to do your art for you. Unless you commission them and pay them to do art, which is something human artists do anyway.
But right now, it’s a mere machine that can draw or write for you, not a real AI.

Pretty soft for a Sony.

Hey AI has rights too! (no they don’t)! What if you bully a AI and it turns Skynet on us! (omg Skynet please don’t kill me, I’m your biggest fan!)

Banning machine-generated art has, too. Supporting an environment where art created by AI can flourish and grow means to also support that artists don’t put an effort into their work anymore and earn fame with something that they did not even create by themselves.
Additionally, it would one day lead to it that real artists who stick to the old ways won’t have a job anymore and get forced to either succumb to the AI creation or to stop creating, because AI art is faster and easier to produce and beats artists who draw everything manually.
There are many wrong reasons for censorship, but not all are. Banning computer-generated art to prevent artistic creation from becoming something machine-controlled would be the right and responsible thing to do.
Art should only get expressed by an actual artist, not artificial intelligence.

Its arguable that the people who made the art machine would be getting censored.
It has nothing to do with feelings. It has to do with upholding a principle. That all art be expressible.
This isn’t the place for this conversation.

Besides, machines can’t have feelings.
@wselfwulf
Because it was defined in the first post of the thread for name suggestions that the option of leaving as-is would be in the poll for those that didn’t want her to get a name or as a “none of the above” option. It turns out that for the Sphinx, the first party was stronger than with the others.

Yes, I’m sure the machine who made the art piece, because the “artist” was too lazy to learn drawing by themselves, will feel very censored~

I’ve never heard them say that. But it’s good they enforce this. We should never allow machines to do art for us and art created in such a way should always get banned everywhere, regardless if it’s drawn or written.

So they’re allowed then? Well, that makes life a bit easier with regard to uploading automatically.

We actually already have a neural network with an artist tag here. Though I’m not sure how much those were edited by the artist behind it.

Ah, heh. Well, Fimfic have long-since stated that computer-generated content that has no work done by a human to at least make it readable is banned—not sure if derpibooru has made a statement on that side of things, but if they’re allowing digital art, I could always fire up PyTorch on my bot…

Well, yeah, the posting part itself. The impractical part is obtaining enough original art for all your bots to look legit.

They can, it just takes a little trickiness and they can be automated. I have a project on the drawing board that would allow artists to drag/drop their art to my discord bot and it would post it for them.

Thank you for looking, but it seems to me uploads and comments are better metrics because they can’t be automated. Or at least that’s what I’d do if I were writing a bot, have it select popular tags and fave random images under them. You could automate comments too, but it would be riskier. Uploads are really the only thing I don’t see how you could automate at all. The percentage of people with zero uploads should still tend towards the same number in each pool, shouldn’t it?

On my case, i wanted to name her, but i ended up voting for the equivalent of “none of the above” because none of the suggestions look good to me.
