I also feel like the retcon messed up the royal sisters’ significance in finding the Elements to beat Discord as well.
Along with its really hard to live down in seeing Luna getting possessed and absorbed too by Cosmos like that.
I just hope the season 10 comics here retcon/at least pretend Cosmos never existed.
Agreed. While there are obviously some comics that miss the mark a bit, the reception has been mostly positive outside of derpibooru.

That’s assuming he wasn’t joking about writing for Season 10.
They even got M.A. Larson back on board. And he knows how the show works. But even he can foul up so I’ll take it with a grain of salt.

Despite additional issues that you have pointed out, I still quite enjoy it. ||And Fluttershy being best pony in this episode saved it from being below-average for S9 imo ||.
There’s all kinds of issues in that episode from Ahuizotl suddenly being just a temple guardian after giving villain speeches to Ahuizotl and Cabelleron being portrayed as always being against each other even though they worked together before to Cabelleron suddenly not knowing who Daring Do’s secret identity is even though he had her attacked in her house.

I watched the episode last week so you must be talking about Cabelleron and his minions, right?
Yeah, that’s the only one I recall. There may be more but I doubt anything on the level of Daring Doubt.
Is it from “The Good, The Bad and The Ponies”?
Not really. The only continuity error of the top of my head was when Twilight refused to stop some criminals because she can’t “use her magic against Equestrian citizens” but did so earlier in the comics.
The show itself has had a lot more errors and that’s nothing compared to the episode Daring Doubt. OOC moments are debatable.

The staff at IDW already uses canon incompatible with the show, if anything it’ll just embolden them to go with their own interpretation of events and personalities since DHX won’t be able to retcon their arcs anymore.
Heck, they could even undo some of those retcons, FFS…
