But yeah. Why would you ever play the kind of game you’d find on a PS4 or XBox One on one of said machines instead of a PC?

Ok, what you will need is a computer, a PS3, a Xbox 360 and a Wii.
First, you place the consoles next to the PC. Then, apply duct tape to attach the consoles to the computer.
YOU CAN NOW PLAY ANY MODERN CONSOLE GAME ON YOUR PC. ENJOY!
I don’t know if it’s still being sold, but I have a device that can essentially convert a gamcube, PS2, or original Xbox control into a PC gamepad

That may be true, but just because it can be played doesn’t mean it can be played well. Let’s say you wanna play Metroid Prime on PC.
How in the sweet hell are you gonna manage that? As far as I know there is no USB Gamecube controller. Good luck playing that game with just a mouse and keyboard.
