To be fair, Rainbow would be the most easily insertable character with most action settings, though I do see what you mean. Daring, cocky, and smart mouthed, Rainbow fits Dante pretty well, though the exact same can be said of Nero. Again, to be fair, Nero and Dante aren’t very different, so Rainbow would fit at either one. Perhaps Scootaloo as Nero would make more sense, all things considered.

On a side note, whatever differences Nero has from Dante can be attributed to him being a knockoff of Ichigo from Bleach just as much as he is a knockoff of Dante, and Kyrie is a blatant knockoff of Orihime from the same anime, right down to the two pairs having THE EXACT SAME VOICE ACTORS. (There’s several more parallels you’ll notice if you watch the anime, such as the brother turned monster, love interest kidnapped by big bad, and “OMG my not-boyfriend has a monster in him” moment, just to name a few, but I digress.)

Wow. This does bring me back. I asked for this request in John’s stream 2 years ago, back when I was still getting into the fandom.

I’ll be honest, the only reason I wanted Fluttershy as Dante is because I figured she’d look sexy in the DMC3 outfit…I was right. :) Rainbow as Nero though…much more sense. I would’ve had Luna as Dante, but John has always had this strange thing about refusing to draw Luna humanized.
