SNK fighting games are not rip-offs of Capcom fighting games. In fact, Fatal Fury was released a few months earlier than Street Fighter II (I find it funny that fans think the whole fighting game genre started with the second one, not the first one, though the first one, indeed, is actually awful).
It is funny that Yuri do predate Sakura and you can see that SNK is not bitching by making a Sakura parody of sort.
