I think it’s obvious that sunset would win. Why? because she can cast that spell that she used when she turned all of CHS into zombies… on midnight. plus sunset already knows how to use magic… but midnights still learning.

Let me guess if these two had their own “realistic” abilities and combat advantages. They may not be accurate and most of them are in my own thought if they were super fighters. (I’m not talking about Mortal combat guys. I do not want heavy debates either if you reply)
 
For the corrupted magic-bearing flying she-demon Sunset Satan-
 
+Flying- Allows Sunset to fly  
+Magic wielder- Can use magic-based abilities (also training with former teacher Celestia allowed her to boast such abilities)  
+Armored Skin- (my add-on) Acts as light armor protection from all damage sources (physical, fire, toxins/chemicals/poison, energy and magic except dark magic, a damage type that ignores resistances and penetrates right through opponents)  
+Fire resistant- (my add-on) Provides greater protection from fire-based abilities  
-Wields only one of the original elements  
-Careless and unpredictable  
-Had short screen time in the first movie so we don’t exactly know what abilities she could of possibly wield
 
Melee based:
 
Claws- Long enough to where they can swipe and scratch. Heavy enough damage can cause opponents to bleed.
 
Fangs- Vampire-like teeth can allow her to bite at opponents and cause them to bleed.
 
Stomp- Heavy boots/feet/etc. allows Sunset to kick and stomp at opponents and send them flying. Greater damage at taller heights.
 
Head butt- Rams head into foes and knock them back. Can also ram foes while in airborne.
 
Magic based:
 
Fiery skin- The fists bursts into cuffs of flames, allowing Sunset to deal greater damaged through melee combat and damage foes over time.
 
Fire ball- Can unleashed a tremendous orb of energy and fire that travels at high speeds and bursts into flames.
 
Teleportation- Can teleport from the previous area and spawn at the desired location. Can be used to flank foes and dodge incoming attacks.
 
Concentrated Arc- Can launch a burst of magic beams inside a tight arc spreading with distance, allowing her to have greater chances of hitting the enemy.
 
Telekinesis- Can pick foes and objects via magic and throw them around like ragdolls.
 
Special: (these are the goodies :D)
 
Leech- Each time she successfully bites an at the enemy a portion of their health can be taken and used to heal
 
Rage- Anger allows Sunset to deal greater damage as well as maneuver and attack more frequently.
 
Fury- When close to dying, large amounts of Adrenocorticotropic hormones are released and allows her to jump back into the fight at full strength. She is much more aggressive, can deal much greater damage, maneuvers faster, attack more frequently, resist all damage types by a large amount and dark magic by a small amount and can quickly knock out foes.
 
 
What are your guys thoughts? Powerful enough for Sunny to take on Midnight without getting her ass kicked? Give me your thoughts WITHOUT a long lengthy debate while I write stats for Midnight Sparkle.

This one is dumb. Daydream Shimmer only beat Midnight Sparkle because she got distracted for a second (look at the clip if you think I’m bullshiting) and that was both with the same level of power.
 
Sunset Satan is 1 element corrupted and Midnight is 6. Curbstomp.
 
Its also possible Sci Twi has regular Twi’s same aptitude for magic

Wiz: Sunset Satan wielded the full might of the corrupted Element of Magic, but Midnight Sparkle has magic from the other five Elements of Harmony.
 
Boomstick: “But Wiz, Boomstick, Midnight Sparkle lost to Sunset Shimmer before!” Weeeeell, that’s true, but that was Daydream Shimmer, who used power from all six Elements and has the power to close the portals as easily as you and I can breathe. Sunset Satan was trumped by a lesser version of the Elements’ power.
 
Wiz: Sunset Satan is significantly weaker than Daydream Shimmer by a long shot. Also, while it is true that she is a better strategist, that isn’t saying much.
 
Boomstick: Her plan was to use her army to take over Equestria. So her soldiers, who are now in bodies they can’t properly use, are going into an area where the co-regents of Equestria, as well as the other Element bearers, are waiting for her. Real smart, Satan.
 
Wiz: Midnight Sparkle’s power and enthusiasm of wielding it were the keys to her victory.
 
Boomstick: In the end, Satan got exorcised.
 
Wiz: The winner is Midnight Sparkle.

It is a possibility for sure, but I see that as a long shot by far.
 
Not to discredit Midnight, but she really had no idea what she was doing when using the magic, she just threw around portal magic and threw out a beam, and it is believed that she didn’t have full control over the power
 
Sunset Satan took the power of the element of magic and actually was using more than its raw potential in a more nuanced way.
 
But these are just the musings of a biased individual

Even so Sunset and Twilight were close to equal in the deathbeam scene. Because the magic had the control and the magic well knows itself.  
Sunset used the elements of harmony and Spike to defeat Midnight Sparkle.

I am almost surprised that everyone thinks Midnight Sparkle, she has more power yes, but she only has a rudimentary understanding of the power she wields, as opposed to Sunset Satan, who actually was a student of Celestia and spent most of her life training with magic, so it would be like saying a kid with a sniper rifle vs a cop with a pistol.

I think it’s unofficial. I don’t think the transformation got an official name. However, Midnight Sparkle is official.

The Element of Magic is only one element. Midnight Sparkle has 5 elements now but the Element of Magic is missing from the formula unless she already carries it.  
But the movie3 suggests that Sunset Shimmer is the Element of Magic now. She recived even the alicorn form in the human world.

Midnight Sparkle
 
Let’s not forget that both Sunset Satan and Midnight Sparkle’s powers came from the same thing. Sunset Satan’s powers came from the Element of Magic. That magic was then passed on to the human Mane Six, who carried that power with them for the next two movies. Then human Twilight came and accidentally stole their magic, thus gaining the same amount of energy from the Element of Magic. This would mean that both Sunset Satan and Midnight Sparkle are at the same level of power.
 
HOWEVER! Human Twilight also accidentally stole the magic from the portal to Equestria, adding to the total amount of magic she has and making her more powerful than Sunset Satan was.
 
In short:  
Sunset Satan’s magic: 900  
Midnight Sparkle’s magic: 1000
 
But as Stan Lee once said, the winner between two fictional characters is entirely up to the person who is writing the story. There is never truly a set victor.

I’d say Midnight Sparkle. I mean, come one, she absorbed the magic from all of the HuMane 6 and the portal and she can rip apart reality itself! She also looks much better.

Because the equestria magic origiates directly from Babidi. She became Majin Sparkle.

I would say Sunset ONLY because she had the Element of Magic.
 
Midnight Sparkle however had better feats in the dimensional destruction/collapse alone. She was never truly malicious interestingly enough, while it’s pretty clear Sunset was going to kill Twilight and her friends. Overall demon Sunset would probably win. But perhaps Midnight Sparkle could simply destroy the battlefield.

Even then I really doubt that it’s enough to overpower the element of Magic. I could see it maybe (and I mean maybe) matching it. But still Sunset is going to have much more experience with Magic and Fighting which even assuming Midnights Power matches that of the Element is going to give her a huge advantage over all.
 
Not that it really matters all that much; Midnight didn’t have anywhere near enough screen time to evaluate her powers, so it’s mostly just speculating.

She also stole magic from the portal, and we have no idea how hard that was to set up.

Sunset Shimmer puts on Twilight’s crown and becomes the evil demon. She can use her brainwashing powers like she did with the Canterlot High Students, she can use her magical levitation, and throw giant energy balls at her opponent. Too bad that her plan failed because of Twilight Sparkle and her friends.
 
Twilight Sparkle unleashed her magic to become the evil Midnight Sparkle. She tells Sunset Shimmer that she understands magic. She can create several dimensional rifts, which makes her major threat to Equestria, and everypony living in it. She battled with Sunset Shimmer but when she saw Spike with a sad expression, everything changed. Sunset Shimmer gets the upperhand. As a result, she accepts Sunset Shimmer’s friendship, and the two went back to normal.
 
Ok, let’s end this debate once and for all. IT’S TIME FOR A DEATH BATTLE!!
