Because previews and sneak peeks mean “here’s a tiny little taste of one thing that is going to be in the finished work” and not “this single panel out of context is representative of literally everything in the book.”

I actually have to give a lot of respect to Whitley for this. He’s actually taking the time to respond to all these knee-jerk reactionary outrages and saying “stop overreacting and actually read the damn story before you start judging it.”
 
A lesson a lot of internet folks could definitely use.
