@Pagan
I agree. An episode where Apple Bloom would have had to deal with the repercussions of her violent actions would not only be very interesting; it would also be educational to its target audience.

I was saying his comparison made no sense because this is more interesting than most of their episodes which I like but there’s no denying this would have been the best part of any episode if it was canon.

I’m going to go ahead and assume that was a joke. There is no way a sensible person would put this nonsense before our beloved CMC episodes.

Sugarcoat's Counterpart
So strange now looking at this short again, after Tiara’s recent change of heart in Crusaders of the Lost Mark.
If the risk outweighs the rewards enough, certain crimes simply won’t happen. I’ve heard that in Dubai, there is virtually no crime. Take theft, for example.
First offense: lose a hand
Second offense: lose your other hand
Third offense: execution
Walking around with one hand in Dubai pretty much tips people off that you should be watched. Barring those few people who have lost their hands in accidents, this has to be one of the fairest forms of profiling I’ve ever heard of. But seriously, anyone dumb enough (and nimble enough) to steal after they’ve had both their hands chopped off (and they are chopped; none of this “surgically removed” nonsense) is begging for the grave.
This is all hearsay. Anyone who knows from experience what crime and punishment is like in Dubai is free to correct me.
@Nova Sol
That said, you could educate a bully through abuse but YMMV as to what they take away from the lesson imparted. It could range from “I won’t bully anyone anymore” to “I’ll be more selective about who I bully”.
You don’t educate bullies with bullying, I thought AJ thought you better apple bloom, I’m disappointed v.v

It’s not bullying if you only cause physical damage. That’s abuse. It’s only bullying if AB intended to cause psychological damage.
@Crystal Neighybánya
One could say they’re cutting their losses ahead of the next tax survey and divesting themselves of a lot of real estate over which they pay tax. And while losing the farm along with the cider selling rights aren’t adequately explained, aside from the Apples showing they don’t know business well, I wouldn’t say the episode didn’t have a lot of effort put into it. It certainly showed what sort of businesspony AJ was (a fairly incompetent one).

@cdcdrr
In the show, it seems like Barnyard Bargains is a Ponyville-only deal. Filthy Rich says that his store is the cornerstone in retail in Ponyville; if he had a whole chain of stores across the land, wouldn’t he have said that his stores were the cornerstone of retail in Equestria?

I’d argue that Super Speedy Cider Squeezy 6000 does have an element of laziness in its writing. This infographic sums up the main problem with that episode rather nicely.

@Crystal Neighybánya
Just because you see only one store does not mean there aren’t dozens of them across the land. Not that I ever saw a Barnyard Bargains in Ponyville, the closest thing to one was the comics.

But the Ticket Master was meant to establish their characters, so however they were portrayed there is how they were intended from conception. The series may have strayed, and honestly improved a lot since then, but I can’t really dismiss it because of that. And to say the writers were lazy might work in a few cases, but I don’t believe that applies to Ticket Master or Super Speedy Cider Squeezy.
