tin foil have a lot of “radiation reflective” propreties;
while a lot less effective than lead, it’s both cheaper and easy to transport and use, this, in combination with old science fiction (both in the teoretical uses and the fact it is present in pretty much every single robot costume) made people believe that tinfoil is the solution
the fact microwaves explode when used with it inside is an extra on the “great and protective tinfoil” believing
The concept originate from the tin foil hat which itself has a fascinating and long history of appearing in several works of fiction, beginning with a work published in 1927 called “The Tissue-Culture King” by Julian Huxley based on the concept of the tin foil being capable of blocking ESP or microwave frequencies.
This is because there have been several documentations of tin foil actually blocking out electromagnetic signals used by the military as well as a effective shield against small Electromagnetic pulses.
PFFT HA! THE PERFECT SHELTER!
I was expecting buzzing flies
What would make it funnier is the fact that AJ would really be sounding a foghorn offscreen.
That would’ve worked
why? that way she’d be saying she can prove it… O_o
I guess that along with the story’s current mood, it probably would’ve been a moot endeavor XD
But the emphasis on it the way it is makes little sense as well
but that’d be like double negative that’d result into positive, so like she’d be sayin she can prove it…
