I have to admit, Deers look pretty good in the series. They’re as cute as Ponies.

They probably won’t. There was an episode Lauren Faust wanted to do, with a pony who was raised by deer and thought himself a deer and the main six meet him and reveal that he’s a pony….The show didn’t do it. {They also rejected the Big Mac episode she planned.}
 
And given how the deer are a crucial part in the comics, the show will probably never touch deer. While I do think of the comics as canon, with one or two exceptions, the show seems to stay clear of referencing them…even though the comics do come up with some great stories and characters.
