I think he means that he thinks the yaks are supposed to represent the (minority) of people who complain (loudly) about the show when it’s not the greatest thing ever.
 
While one could make the connection, and it’s definitely not particularly hard (as shown with this picture), I would like to make the argument that this is Friendship is Magic we’re talking about here, NOT Teen Titans Go. DHX isn’t stupid enough to directly insult the show’s fanbase and this entire thing is more likely than not just a coincedence (seriously, the yaks could just as easily be those whiny brats that whine about their show/series/games/anything not being perfect, and they could just as easily be something the writers just made out of nowhere).

I feel kinda like we’re having very different conversations. I assumed you were making some snarky remark about me having problems with this episode and the episode somehow getting the better of me because I was complaining and the show was taking a swipe at complainers.

Sure, in that one of those actually happened onscreen and the other only happened in your opinion.
 
Also, the “sub”text of the Yaks’ attitude was pretty clearly a commentary on previously existing fandom behavior, not some kind of predictive attempt at a CYA shield against “criticism” for the episode itself.

Honestly, Lesson Zero isn’t on my list of favorites either  
Some people, myself included, actually felt it dragged on. It wasn’t able to grip me as well as it could have  
I can point to all kinds of reasons why it felt sluggish and aimless, but there’s no use in trying to make up someone else’s mind for him  
See, this is how one expresses dislike for an episode without begging the question and mistaking one’s personal opinions for quantifiable fact.

The fact there isn’t a “debate in the comments” tag yet saddens me, it would fit with this one really well.
