The tension was ambiguous? Okay, hmmm. I’m sorry, I still don’t see how the episode was sloppy in really any way. It kept a fair structure throughout and the moral and ending weren’t rushed. The tension was crystal clear from where I stood, so I’m sorry. I just don’t see where you’re coming from.

It wasn’t fast-paced. Some people, myself included, actually felt it dragged on. It wasn’t able to grip me as well as it could have because it was unreasonably ambiguous where the story’s tension was. Most of the episode is just freakouts and random pointlessness, hence my accusation of sloppy storytelling.

First off. It was a Pinkie episode, following her travels. I expect such fast paced and comedic jokes from it and I got exactly that. Sloppy? I don’t follow honestly. I didn’t see anything in the episode that would remotely be sloppy to me. It flowed well and had an excellent pace.

Honestly, Lesson Zero isn’t on my list of favorites either. Twilight was being over the top, to the point where she actually sort of even harms some children. Great princess material, that one.
 
But even Lesson Zero was better than this episode. Looney Tunes is a very different style of show. They got away with that sort of dopey silliness because it was all pure nonsense in the first place.
 
Fiction is a tricky business. One needs to think about the kind of genre he’s trying to portray. FIM is ordinarily heavy on episodic story, and fairly light on the kind of nonstop wackiness you’d find in, say, “Teen Titans Go!” This episode, however, couldn’t figure out what its genre, message, or story really was. It was terribly sloppy.

This wasn’t a good episode.

Overall good episode but I had to pause several times from sheer awkwardness.

Yeah, this is painfully true. Not just of bronies but of any fanbase, really. I’m reminded of that old Yahtzee Croshaw quote I always love rolling out: “Fans are clingy, complaining dipshits who will never, ever be grateful for any concession you make.”

I found Pinkie Pie’s antics hilarious. Seriously, they were like Looney Toon levels of hilarity.
 
How are her freakouts boring? It’s a part of her character and we don’t see them often, or at least to this degree. Honestly, this was almost on Lesson Zero levels here. {Great episode that was.}

Eh, I disagree. Twilight’s freakouts are downright boring at this point, and the yaks were beyond irritating. If they’re that quick to go to war, maybe they need to be put in their place, sheesh. And I don’t even know what to say about Pinkie’s cringe-worthy schemes. Sliding on a sled clear across Equestria is way beyond outrageous, even for Pinkie. And what the hay is up with the day that never ends? And what’s the deal with all the deus-ex-machinas? I had no idea they could fit so many into one lousy episode. None of it made a lick of sense. Slice of Life was tame compared to this madness.
