It happens much in the fandom, though the mentality behind all of that is to satirize, to show appreciation, or just to do it for fun. It’s just those little moments in each episode that stand out to us and makes us think, “I didn’t know that,”“that was nuts,” or something else. And depending on what that moment was, people choose to create different content from it because it shows that it was/is memorable to some degree. From this, the outcomes are memes, like Nightweaver said, and fanart, regardless of how important it was to the episode. Though can it get a bit irritating after a while? Sure it can.
 
In this context, I chose to poke fun at Twilight’s fear for quesadillas. I had no idea she was like this from the start, so what were my first thoughts upon learning it? Make fun of it through art! Present it in a scenario which wasn’t actually shown on screen! I thought it would be humorous to emphasize that one little detail in the episode since it was surprising to me and it looked like something that could be elaborated on. Like…what would she say or how would she react if somebody showed her a single slice of a quesadilla?

idk what it is with this fandom and making favorite/least favorite/feared food/item/whatever into giant huge things that the specific pony is completely obsessed over/deathly afraid of and it spirals into a big mess crazyness
